Hey guys have you ever either by necessity or design bought a budget cola maybe for a fraction of the price of the real stuff expecting it to taste like shit only to discover its fucking magnificent 👌 😍.
I'll start the ball running.
Aldi diet coke. 59p for two litres it's like nectar from the gods, bloody glorious.

I don't drink on-brand cola or pop/soda in general - too much processed sugar. that being said I do really like non-alcoholic beer as a regular drink and some of the best are the grocery store off-brands. so I get where you are coming from.

Chek. Don't like the cola, but the Dr. Pepper and grape soda versions are awesome. RC may still be good, haven't checked them out in a while. Bad thing right now is that the budget drinks aren't much lower priced than the big brands.

I've heard that RC cola fuckin rocks, been looking out for it for ages.

Name some gotta try that stuff.

Like a lot of good stuff, I think RC is regional. You'll find it down south and midwest. RC in the 80s in the old glass bottles was top notch. Then again, almost all sodas in the old glass bottles were top notch.

Off-brand soda is either a huge hit or miss but yeah it saves you money instead of paying the higher prices of the name brand version.

In High-school we tried to make Cola in chemistry by guessing the ingredients and came so close, but always missing the exact taste.

So rather than say a Heineken 0.0 which costs as much as a regular Heineken. In Canada there is a popular grocery store off-brand called Presidents Choice. The PC Amber Ale and PC Blonde Ale both taste better and its a half the cost of premium non-alcoholic beers for twice as much.

Nah i just get throwback Pepsi. Haven't drank RC since the 80s. I like Mexico Coke but my store hasn't had it in ages. If i want sugar free l'll have black coffee, never without caffeine.

Maybe it's different in other locations but here they have both branded colas diet and regular along with their own stuff.

Never but I might give a chance to a different brand of soda just because of this thread

Dr. Thunder ftw

Yeah, generic brand sodas can be pretty good in my experience.

Nobody knows this. right? 👇

Dr thunder is by far the best Dr pepper knockoff (coke's pib doesnt come close). I've wanted a good mountain dew or Mtn Dew code red knockoff but none of them are really good.

Haven't seen any in a bit, but...
