Overview:
New Year's Day(e) is the continuing story of a single father (MC) and his stepdaughters, Evelynne (Eve) and Dayton (Daye) and their friends Becky and Kaylee. This is the sequel to the story "

This is a love story of acceptance, coming of age, and healing as the MC's family and friends continue to come to terms with their developing feelings for each other and their grief felt for the MC's late wife, Heather.​

Chapter 3 v0.3.1 - Lots of misspellings and grammatical corrections. Also made the ending skippable. No changes to the story itself.

Chapter 3 - Overall a much lighter feel than chapter 2. Lots of cools stuff happens. Brace yourself for the ending, though. It's gets pretty rough.

I have received a lot of feedback about NYD chapter 2 over the past couple of weeks. Some was good, some was not so good. All of it is greatly appreciated, so thanks! It's because of this feedback that some errors were brought to my attention. It seems that I failed at conveying certain ideas, and in doing so, kinda screwed up the whole tone/feel of the story. I Have gone back and rewritten several parts of the story. While the overarching story line hasn't really changed, the MC's character arch is much more clear. I think that this update is a much more comprehensive version of the story I originally set out to tell in chapter 2. I think it stays more true to the original tone of Christmas Eve and NYD Chapter 1.

So, feel free to download v0.2.4 and replay it to get the full understanding of what was going on in the MC's head during all of this drama, and let me know what you think.

Sorry for not getting it right the first time around, but, hey, that's what the phrase "in development" means, right?

I'm not sure what to think. Logically, it all makes sense. Lauren being Molly and having been in an incestuous relationship with her (and Randall's) father would explain her fascination with it. She would have great memories of her time with him and would want the same for her children. This was also hinted at during the wedding dream back in chapter 2, though I didn't think much of it at the time because of how these dreams tend to incorporate things from reality.
At the same time, Randall suddenly thinking about his own incestuous relationship with his mother is weird. Was this a repressed memory? Why didn't his own experiences ever factor into any decision-making so far? If he grew up accepting this relationship as normal and pleasurable, maybe even beneficial... Why didn't this carry over to how he rationalizes the feelings of his daughters, and his feelings for them? This would've been a big thing in Randall's life, and it never came up.

At a certain point, he equates himself to Pace, but never considers that, potentially, he was groomed by his mother? Does it even make sense that Randall equates himself to Pace, if he grew up in an incestuous household? He wasn't focused on the abuse that happened to Portia, or on consent, only on Portia getting fucked by her father. I understand that overthinking is part of Randall's nature, but this segment felt forced to me. Even without knowing the twist yet, it seemed to only be there so the date with Becky could get cancelled. I would've liked it better if Randall showed some actual introspection here and cancelled the date himself, saying that he felt emotionally drained and wanted to hug his daughters. But, that's subjective.

Speaking of Becky, she better have a damn good explanation for keeping this secret for so long. And it'll have to be better than "if I had told you, you would never have fucked them," or the reverse "If I had told you, you would've forced the issue before they were ready." I'm certain that Randall will forgive and forget, as he does everything... I just hope it takes longer than a line or two.

One detail that still lets me have a little bit of doubt that Molly and Lauren are the same person, are the last names. Lauren's last name was Parker, Randall's last name is Flagg. Randall told Becky he's been looking for his long-lost sister, and I have to assume he has the intelligence to look for a combination of names, and that he'd know the last names of his mother and father. He's a cybersecurity specialist, he can't be dumb (though this is very debatable at times), and should be resourceful in finding information. Likewise, if "Margaret Parker" is a name he knew, certainly after the chat with Becky during their date, some bells had to go off.
I guess Molly may have changed her last name to keep her relationship with her father on the down low. But if she did, then she also had to know there would be no way for Randall to find her, and it'd be all up to her. If that's the case, it's interesting she only came to find Randall after she was pregnant with her 2nd child already. This in turn would beg the question; why did she wait that long? Was it a chance meeting? Did she break things off with her father for Randall, or did something happen to their father, urging her to find her brother? Priorities matter.

Yeah. I don't really see it as NTR, but at the same time him having repressed his memories takes away some of the romance all the same.
We'll see how the story continues, but right now it feels like Randall was just a useful simp to take care of his sister-nieces.

Agreed. Unfortunately, Jonesy stated above that the upcoming Chapter 6 will be a huge one, but it is also the final chapter.
Then Siren Song will be his only game going, which is a great one as well!

Personally think Siren Song is the best of the 3, though all of them have been a cut above the normal avn.
