Holy cow! It's been almost a month since the last NYD progress report?!

Time flies when you're doing renders of people having fun.

Things are progressing nicely. I have one more scene to complete for day 1 of chapter 5 and then...

Well, I have to say, I may need to reevaluate where I am. I know I've been saying Chapter 5 wold be two days, but this first day has really fleshed out a lot since I made those statements. I may need to walk that back a bit, but maybe not. We'll see.

Basically what I'm saying is I may release this chapter as just "Day 5".

Also, to be completely honest, I'm really excited to get back to work on Siren Song. I don't want to neglect one for the other for too long.

Yeah, this game is on the other site without any changes needed, and it doesn't seem to even be threatened with R7 reports. The girls' appearances are just Jonesy's style. His other games got slapped with the loli tag on F95, but this one escaped. Personally, I don't think any of his games should have it, nor should any of them be in Games+.

As you said, it's a Mod and is unrelated to the Game's Dev. As to why - because it lets you tweak the ages which is the Reason i believe.
Probably should have put the Reason in a Spoiler earlier, hope it doesn't bite me lol

Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!

It has been too long since my last progress report and for that, I apologize. This year the holiday season has been a little more overwhelming for me than usual. This can be attributed to several factors that I will not bore you with. Just know that I am finally pulling out of this tailspin I found myself in and I'm making a lot more progress with Chapter 5.

I have one spicy scene left to render and then do all of my corrections, add music, and post work. Again, this chapter will only cover one day as usual. It may seem a little shorter that what I usually release, but Chapters 6 and/or 7 will make up for it, I promise .

All of this to say, I don't really see me getting this finished before my projected deadline of New Year's Eve. It will most likely be released in the first half of January. This bums me out a little, but I am really excited to finish this chapter. And after that, I will switch back to working on Chapter 3 of Siren Song, which makes me really happy as well.

Anyway, I hope you all have an amazing holiday season and good cheer to you whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Saturnalia, the winter solstice or just a badass Wednesday.

I have received a lot of feedback about NYD chapter 2 over the past couple of weeks. Some was good, some was not so good. All of it is greatly appreciated, so thanks! It's because of this feedback that some errors were brought to my attention. It seems that I failed at conveying certain ideas, and in doing so, kinda screwed up the whole tone/feel of the story. I Have gone back and rewritten several parts of the story. While the overarching story line hasn't really changed, the MC's character arch is much more clear. I think that this update is a much more comprehensive version of the story I originally set out to tell in chapter 2. I think it stays more true to the original tone of Christmas Eve and NYD Chapter 1.

So, feel free to download v0.2.4 and replay it to get the full understanding of what was going on in the MC's head during all of this drama, and let me know what you think.

Sorry for not getting it right the first time around, but, hey, that's what the phrase "in development" means, right?

I played through and thought it was pretty well done. My only real 'complaint' would be that the faces of most girls seem a little to similar with a few exceptions.

Good work though. I look forward to more in the future.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the girls are all age 18+ in the game. Plus certain aspects of the story back it up, like the youngest one driving a car.

New Year's Day(e) - Progress Report 1/11/25​

Hey Everyone!

The end is in sight!

The renders are done, the coding is finished, the music has been applied. All that's left is to make some corrections and tweaks.

Chapter 5 will be out by the end of this coming week, perhaps earlier for my top tier subscribers.

I am sending the "rough drafts" out to my amazing team of proofreaders and beta testers. You know, the people that make me seem at least halfway intelligent. (Jesus, I just misspelled "intelligent".)

OK. Chapter 5 is a little shorter than some of the other chapters I've done. To me, this one is a little like "The Two Towers". Lots of running around, lots of stuff getting done, but it's really just a setup for the grand finale.

I do plan on combining New Year's Eve and New Year's Day into Chapter 6, so you'll get a giant-sized send off for "New Year's Day(e)".

Again, I fully intend to keep making shorter stories with these characters. There are too many adventures for them to go on for me to abandon them just yet.

Anyway, back to the post work! I'm so damn excited to release this one and get to work on the ending as well as the next chapter of Siren Song!

P.S. I wasn't very close to Azkosel, but we talked more than a few times. He was such an awesome dude. He helped me figure out a bunch of different things and for that I'll always be grateful. RIP, Az. You'll be missed.

Oh hell. I was actually here to see if this was abandoned. It's been so long since there was any news that I thought it was done for. I hope the damned thing drops soon. I feel like I've been waiting forever on an update on this and also Radiant, which is looking more and more like it's been abandoned. I grow weary of devs that milk the calendar to siphon funds from subs just to do it. There are far more intricate ren'py games out there where the devs do a monthly drop so I assume the ones that are taking 6 to 9 months for the next updates are doing just that, milking subs. Not cool. Ya treat your supporters like shit, eventually you won't have any.

Well, never assume. Comparing Radiant devs and Jonesy with how they work and treat their fans/subs. Is like apples and oranges.
But don't wry Jonesy cares allot about telling his stories. He also goes between two different games, so he started working on Siren Song 0.3 right now. It might be another year until we get the final chapter on this one.

The creative process is different for every one. Some have teams, some work alone. Some have to have a real job on the side. Sometimes you make a big mistake and have to go back to make big changes.

Also, newest news on Radiant is Jan 31. But I believe it when I see it with those guys.
