Pft, forget the global bullshit. Avn aside, real games come in multiple languages and i would never touch a english voiced game.English is the global language.
Every game should be primarily in english and every gamer should learn english.
Stop wasting time with different languages if you want your game to be global. Stop wasting your time not learning english because it is the global language.
I'm curious, have you seen the translation to English in these cases? Do the semantic nuances etc. carry over well?My native language is Russian. But I have no problems reading English texts. As for games, I try not to switch to Russian if someone else was involved in the translation (I have sad experience, alas) and mostly play in English. But there is at least one game that I'm following closely - Bright Past. It is created by a Russian-speaking developer who has a good mastery of his native language (a rarity nowadays, oddly enough). He plays well with semantic nuances, using slang or argot when necessary, which adds a certain charm to the game.
As for individual obscure words - online dictionaries for all tastes are at your service.
