Got the game running by changing windows to japanese.
But when i press start (i think it says so) there is only a blue screen with stripes and som music, but nothing more evere comes.

hi there.
i tried the 3 provided download links. under normal use i only get into the main menu and after clicking the first option i get into the blue checkered background screen with the title music running in a loop. i let it run for 10 minutes thinking it need loading time and the game has no loading bar in that screen. nope.... you are just stuck there.
i tried to use locale emulator with japanese and japanese administrator. its not even loading in the main menu and give a .dmp crash file. (cant upload that file)

Guys I got it running with texts in ENG. Right click on "bokuyome.exe" Locale Emulator > Run in Japanese(Admin).
Edit: Sometimes it gets stuck on text scrolling the mouse wheel fixes it.

Finally, someone with the same problem as me. Too bad I don't know the answer either, lol. I've tried downloading/playing this game from various differnt places over the years and it's always the same thing for me... Game runs fine, but no text/dialogue to be seen. If anyone knows why and/or figures out a solush and can let us know that'd be Awesome.

there's setting at the top left of the window to go to fullscreen.

After install you'll have a right-click choice for 'locale emulator' and run the file with simulated japanese system, no need to actually change anything. Take note to chose the right version, Win10 needs the 2.4.x.x one.
It's safe as far as i can say, some AV's might give a warning as the way this tool works interfaces in ways some viruses also might, but its source code is on GitHub, sooo ...
It doesn't translate though, while the dialogues are, the options and so on are still not in english, but that's not gonna be fixed by changing locale either.

Unfortunately the emulator doesn't work for me ;( I installed it and when I go to run nothing happens.

The only thing i can think of is that it's important to use the right version, as said, win10 needs 2.4.X (and even then you might want to try not the latest but the one before or even older, i use an older version as it works and never tried a newer one)
If that doesn't help i am sorry, if you REALLY want to try to get it to run you can search for an alternative locale emulator, there are a few out there.

SOMEHOW i got it. I replayed the "kissing" scene and suddenly it went into the kitchen scene and the mom asked to join.
