It's not really that. A lot of devs make an AVN for income because they are too sick to work a regular job (many countries do not have a free public health service/social welfare program, so you're fucked if you happen to be in one of them with health issues and not retirement age). Even when not dead there's several devs in my sub list that get delayed updates on occasion due to health issues for the ones that are transparent about it. But yeah, I also wish those devs would make shorter AVNs when the odds are against them they will finish it before dying if they take more than 4-5 years. All but hardcore fans tend to lose interest anyway after about 3-4 years or so, it's why few TV shows last longer than that (though some keep going even after 30 seasons, probably because the fans they originally gathered when they were kids are not dead yet).
