But to answer the OP question im currently using Mommy if i can add a relationship name in the game . Mostly because its funny.. also i view these games as i have possessed the MC, so banging the mom doesnt seem gross as its someone elses mom haha.

Yeah, I think it's just lazy way to evade no-incest rules on platforms.
And modders that add incest often ignore moms coz they don't rly care or simply coz they don't get paid for that.
Also it's not that hard to do it yourself. It's just little time consuming, but you can do that in every renpy game and change whatever you want - even all script.

Mom is perfect though, gets the point across about who the character is referring to, while keeping that incest taboo fresh in your mind. The entire point of the incest part disappears if the MC doesn't use "mom" so this one is given from the get to. No normal person calls their parents their given name, even as adults, so it would break the immersion twice to do it in an incest game.

I prefer just Mom, I can live with loving pet names (i.e honey and the like) so long as its not what they exclusively call her suddenly, but suddenly using their given name pulls me out of things a bit, and like you said makes them feel like just anyone else. incest should feel like incest. I'm a bit iffy on "mommy" specifically (I can live with female LI's calling the MC daddy, especially in actual daughter contexts or sisters/friends/whatever else they are if they're the same age or younger) but I suppose with the right scenes I'd be fine with it, more so if its the mother referring to *herself* as "mommy" (like "come give mommy your load" or whatever other dirty talk someone with better writing skills than me could come up with).

Agreed, personally I think the main thing is even if they start kissing like lovers and all that entails. End of the day, she birthed him, and she took care of him as a mother should until their relationship took on this completely new angle.
