This game and Treasure of Nadia are great entries in the NLT catalogue when you are starting off with their works.
Gladly recommend this one.
The later entries in the series can be a bit hit & miss like The Genesis Order and their newest title Symphone of the Serpent.

same, my buddie gifted it to me on steam and we all played it as a group for memes, i loved the games after that.

The only thing they improved on was video animation but it's always the same game with a different skin.
