I love to surf around with tags but the thing is I just want new ones. What I mean is if there is footjob tag I dont want foot fetish because you have to select either or if you select them both it searchs for footjob and foot fetish on the same game.
 
Depends on the kind of game for me.
If it's a sandbox with optional LIs who each have their own kink or focus... Then there's no limit to the amount of tags that game can have.
If it's a story-first game with only 5 LIs but a plethora of tags, then you just know that none of those tags will be done well.
 
Personally think fewer is better. One thing I think you gotta be aware of too is with a lot of niche tags, you see them get applied to a game if there's like 10 seconds of content that includes it.
 
Less tags are usually better in my experience. I'm new to this site though so my opinion could change.
 
I prefer games with simple stories and compelling content. I usually stick with games with only a handful of tags, incest, pregnancy, etc. But many games here and on other sites have a whole paragraph of tags, listing all of the various and sundry kinks and fetishes that are included.

Do you guys like games with a variety of different tags, or do you prefer to keep things simple?
It really doesnt matter to me. What more pisses me off is when the games have a tag (like creampie) and only have 1 creampie scenes but 100 blowjobs
 
I like the granularity of more tags to call out specific kinks, characters, or actions. But I get that sometimes that only applies to like 1 scene and it really shouldn't count.
On the flip side, if there's a specific kink that your after (like deepthroat) and it's bundled up under oral-sex or blow-job, then you might not find exactly what you're looking for. I wish there was a way we could vote to add or remove tags on content and have the community help categorize stuff.
 
Is good when a game has a lot of content, if they are there bc there is one scene where the mc does that one time is weird
 
I prefer for the game to have a lot of tags because of the amount of undertagged games with feitshes I really don't wanna see. Everytime I see some game with just a few tags my lizard brain just wake up. 🦎🦎
 
balanced. Too many and it becomes confusing. Too little and you don't know what you are in for.
 
I love when a game has a shit ton of tags. I think to something like Fetish Locator.
That type of game where you can do all kinds of stuff scene to scene is just perfect for me.
 
I never really considered it to be a bad thing, though I guess if it's just the things I want, it might mean more of the kinds of scene I like?
 
I think there are two concepts here. One is tags as a development target, and people don't want a lot as it stretches the devs effort. The other is tags as classification, in which people want a lot as it lets them search for niche aspects that might otherwise be impossible to find.

Then, alongside that is the third issue of tags being used well. A tag that applies to a single scene isn't informative to the game, but for people that absolutely loathe that thing, not having the tag is unacceptable.

Personally, I have no issues with tags, though they start becoming difficult to parse when there's a couple dozen or more. That said it's nice when the devs split out core tags that reflect the "main thrust" of the story, so to speak, from the secondary tags that might only apply to a single character or scene.
 
It gets confusing from time to time, but if it's organized and the topic in hand actually is good then sure. Why not.
 
i prefer more tags over fewer. i like to know exactly what they got. also makes searching way easier, but there definitely comes a point where there are too many tags (like itch having nsfw, erotic and adult)
 
the more tags the better. gives a better idea of whats going in the game when searching for games
 
I barely pay attention to tags themselves but do enjoy the fight in the thread about whether the tags were applicable or not :)
 
I can't say that I've noticed a difference in quality between games with a high or a low number of tags. So I don't really care too much. If a game has a tag that interests me, I try it out.
 
It is not a dev's fault that a third party adds so many tags to his or her game. In other words I see what tags rather than amount.
