In short, games that you know of that are very little known, but that you consider to be very good and should be more appreciated.
An opportunity to recommend those games.

For my part, that game would be Chroma Squad, a tactical RPG very much in the style of XCOM but very funny, with many references and a very special Sentai inspiration.

Vintage story, can't call it a finished game but it's still very entertaining.

The Void
Pathologic
The Void Rains Upon Her Heart
At Home Alone
The Sexy Brutale
Games from David Szymanski (FPS + story ones)
Games from Chilla's Art (horrors)
White Day
OFF
That Dragon, Cancer
Presentable Liberty
ImScared

is an exceptional open source game. Even now that it is available on Steam (completely free), it doesn't seem to get quite the attention it deserves.

any game from nippon ichi especially the witch and the hundred knight and ZHP

Wouldn't call nippon ichi a little known company but I do love disgaea.

Regarding other little known games Soulslash is pretty good.

the two games I mentioned aren't very well known

I don't think anyone will play it, but I really like Project I.G.I

Adverse Effects and MWNeus, short but was surprised with how well they were.

There's a game in steam that is actually free and i liked quite a lot, its one of those games that play with your computer (its not gonna mess with anything, just in the game so don't worry) the name is Outcore.

Big fan of the Starcom series, a project from a one-man dev who's been iterating on it since I was in middle school. Now on Steam:

It's great to see that there are still so many great games that I don't know about.

It's scary to know that there are so many great games that I may never know about.

It's sad to know that there are so many great games that are overshadowed by crappy AAA releases.

Not really unknown, but too little appreciated at the time: Beyond Good and Evil.

I'd have to say Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2, they weren't super popular at the time, but I think they have a bit of a cult following. There is Dungeons and War for the Overworld as spiritual successors, but they just don't match the charm. I'd also rep Black and White, both franchises from Peter Molyneux's studio before Fable. I think both franchises kind of got shuttered at the sequel, DK 2 released but it feels unfinished. Worth the buy on GoG in any case.

This game is so fucking amazing, is on stream and is finished, the story, the combat, the plot, the feels. It has a secret of mana kind of vibe and is a pixel game, 100% recommend 10/10

Maybe someone will know the name, but it was a text-based sci-fi brothel game. So probably a million of them, but haven't come across it in a while. Prob on Itch but just don't go there anymore. Thanks LC!
