Complete Ren'Py DAZ Lily - Version: [1.0 Beta] [Joker 3D]

I wrote about the game earlier. The current Part 2 is, imo, much smoother, story moves, and the scenes are getting a little longer and more lewd and erotic. Which are all good trends. :)

I played this one ages ago, was a massive grind for sure. Still very good though, some freaky alien scenes if you're into that stuff.

Those aliens sure improved the infrastructure and there wasn't a lemur in sight. I liked the nonsense in this game. I also wish there were more female MC games. Most of the ones there are have mad stories like this one. entertaining up until nearly the end where I abandoned it because the grind was too much for the last around 10% of completion. I then started the sequel and it seems I didn't miss much...except the breakup of the MC's central relationship! Then again who really cares about that when you can get fingered ad nauseam by asexual looking aliens?

I don't like it when a game is unreasonably dark. So, I made somewhat lighter pack for this game.
Here it is:
To use it, just unpack its contents to a "game" folder.

Some examples to feel what has changed and to understand whether you need it. Lighter versions are my, of course:

dead link, anyone reup this please

Before I fire up lily 2 (1.0 beta) and spoilerize myself because I misunderstood something, is this game intended to seem like a very not-done "completed" 1.0? I got meet the COO in the coffee shop, who agreed to help me, and then all paths seem jammed and that location simply says "wait until next update". But it seems odd to expect a main-story plot-advancing update on a game that apparently is a 1.0? There are also some lines that still feel like they are ramped up, like some sexual progress with Emma that I was pretty excited about but just kinda stopped at boobs.

Is this game still in work? Am I supposed to pivot over to Lily 2 now, is this one of those deals where the dev got sick of the code base and just decided to package the new content as a sequel mid-story? Or am I missing something?

I'm currently at the point where the alien twins need help finding that mysterious girl Emma Holmes, (or her car).

Now I need to find the Alterians, but I’ve been searching for weeks with no luck.
I think they only appear in the park at a very specific time, but I just can’t seem to run into them.

any tips?

yes

oh yes..... I’m desperately glued to my screen right now.
big tip would be
to use spoiler tags just like the person above you did.

Thanks for the smartass reply. That definitely moved me forward.

;)
its better to be a smart ass to one than to be disrespectful to everyone.

no matter what, there will be someone starting the game after the date you commented, be that today or in 2 years

Earlier someone asked whether this 'finished' game is supposed to be so unfinished. Having played to the point where there isn't really anything to do any more and you can see why the version we have here is tagged as the beta version of 1.0, I am now confident to say: Yes, the developer apparently got sick of the old code base and continued the story in a 'sequel'. Lily II is in fact not a sequel so much as simply Chapter 2. The present game, Chapter 1, has typical poor sandbox game ending: almost nothing to do except repeatable events; continuity errors (the repeatable Twins event at this point was clearly written as a one-time event), the hint system is outright misleading in many cases, and it turns out that some game mechanics were actually just for show and to mislead players into pointless grinding (there was never an opportunity to buy anything except for two relatively cheap sex tools, and I am not sure if they even had an effect; so all the grinding for money was ultimately for nothing).

I also encountered a syntax error close to the end. This was at least something I could fix, though to be honest I don't think you miss anything substantial if you just click "ignore" when you run into the error. Still, I have enclosed the bugfix. To install it:
  • Locate the directory game/script/location/westside_park. It contains a file westside_park_khar.rpyc.
  • Move or copy the enclosed file into the directory. It doesn't override the existing file but will be next to it. That's normal.
  • Restart the game.
(The issue was a typical Ren'Py syntax error: the developer wrote = instead of == in a condition. I decompiled the file and fixed the error in the resulting source code file. If you put the corrected source code file westside_park_khar.rpy next to the broken, compiled file westside_park_khar.rpyc, then next time you start the game the broken file will be replaced with the result of compiling the fixed file.)

This game (Chapter 1) ends at the point where Lily has learned, essentially, what happened to her and why. It is not a happy ending, but it is a major turning point. The game gives us a new location but then doesn't let us go there, telling us it's not implemented yet. The 'sequel' (Chapter 2) starts right away at this location (or wherever you were if you load a save from this game).

Instead of a review: I am happy I played this game because it left an impression. But I am also unhappy I played it, because there was an awful lot of grind for what is ultimately a small amount of content. Some of the grinding was my own fault. Read the spoiler if you want to avoid falling into the same trap.
