You must have noticed yourself that we’re just going around in circles with our arguments, so it would probably be best if we left it at that.
I agree with you on some points, while others I can’t quite follow, as they would undermine what sets this site apart from F95 and contradict its very reason for being and purpose.

You are right, anyway it shouldn't be a contradiction, F95 is terrorised to be the next forum closed due to loli, LC is accepting the risk but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be a more caution.

The things that would benefit the site the most right now are probably features that you should be copying from sites that try to be actual info repositories, rather than forums. In other words, VNDB and the like. This site (and others like F95 and ATF before it died) have no decent way to permit users to update the game listings. There's no way to add/remove tags, to suggest new tags, to add/remove pictures, to add relationships to other works, etc. It's also lacking in the database aspect. No support for alternate titles, alternate covers, staff listings, separate publisher/studio properties (and a way to filter by them), language fields, marking tags as spoilers...

Really, I'm just listing a bunch of stuff that VNDB does that this site should do as well.

Right now I also have about 1.6GB of game images scraped from DLsite for all the games I have on my disk, but there's no way for me to add them to the game listings (and fix all the old broken images), and there's no way to actually even search for the games by RJ-number. So even though I would actually love to do this, and therefore contribute to the site in a meaningful manner, I can't, because this site is still a forum with a game browser bolted on, rather than a game database (which is what everyone uses it as).

Honestly, I don't know what to make of any of it any more. I have been here since THE VERY BEGINNING, long before all of these changes went into play and for some reason it reads I've only been here for two years. When the site first went live because F95 was really cracking down on things and it was just a small group of people sharing games and comments No complication, no ranking system to make people look like the are better or worse site users than others, and the first change was an attemot to stop the censsorship infiltrators. After that, it just got pregressively worse and now we are where we are. I was one of the first donors and put quite a bit into it and then the original format changed, everything I did and put forth vanished, and I was over contributing almost weekly but the asks were so much smaller... No sense doing it wthout the OG's that founded it around anymore. I was here long before there were even coins or flashy avatars and nonsense giving a false sense of accomplishment that is really kinda useless if you really think about, all the banners and being able to customize things. Is that really a reward? I suppose to some, it is, but it's trivial IMO. I dropped coin for P5 and guess what, Nothing changed, No access to any 'new area' or additional alleged sister site or bonus content, just the same things I;ve had access to. ...Just the banners and nonsense... Then my page reads I've only been here two years and that is utter nonsense. How would I know about the OG format and the OG mods if I wasn;t here before the coins mech was added and all that? Mabe it;s because I never donated from my bank, debit, or credit for obvious reasons of trust and I almost feel like I was penalized for not tying something to the site that could be younked from when someone with ill intent wanted to. I am not acccusin, just statig that it is what it feels like. . . I never did any dirty shit when the new system started, like trying to extract or mine coins and have actually HATED that there is a time limit on reactions because waiting three minutes between reactions is forcing people to stay on for an hour just to have 20 interactions which yields nothing for coins and I am just not a typist that wants to sit and comment with no valid opinion and something no one is going to read anyway.....Again. What is the use? Some of us have jobs and only have an hour a day to spend online in general, let alone in a forum discussing whatever so what do we get out of this when we donlt have all day to sit around waiting to make a whopping 60 coins that have miniscule interest, no monetary value, aren't even usable anymore because a ne coin with a harder to reach value keeps getting added...Why did I blow coins on P5 for nothing? Wh did I do any of it. I don't know. The updates pages are lacking anymore, the good devs are taking longer and longer between updates milking their patreons and subscribestar accounts and all we do is jump on to see nothing has really changed. I don't need to come here for hte games I like because I sub to devs pages but they are definitely taking advantage of people a lot more now and the AI garbage that they just put promts in and want to get paid for is getting out of hand too...I guess I might not understand what is happening here anymore.

Just curious though, but are there genuine limitation for you not financitally supporting here even despite all your contributions?
