I was really impressed by first Star Citizen gameplay trailer 8 years ago, turns out good trailer doesn't mean good game. But hey, let's hope for the better, maybe i'm just salty cause my investment into SC didn't pay off

Nah, that's perfectly good attitude. Trailers are meant to be flashy even if the end product is a literal shit. I mostly do have hope simply because SC already looks good and if it weren't for the server issues, even the gameplay could be fine. With that being said, I will most likely pirate the game first and based on the price, consider buying it later. Did the same with Cyberpunk and it saved me 60$

10 years ago I could've been interested. Nowadays my expectation is negative, not only I don't really find the setting all that exciting anymore, I also don't trust whoever is making it nor the game industry as a whole to actually produce something that would be at least at the same level of the Mass Effect trilogy

It's definitely interesting especially with their focus on realism, but as someone who is looking at this from the outside and not an actual player, I see it as a scam. I'm not going to say I can't be convinced otherwise, I'm not a stone wall, but it just seems like a lot for a game that's already had so much funding put into it within such a long time while still asking so much for certain in game products. This is not a view point that's solid, I can definitely be persuaded, but I guess I'll have to wait and see the end result when that time finally arrives.

It feels like the effort is being put in, but the way they monetize it seems...... piratical always teasing with "well if you spend this much", and "If you spend a little more to unlock this". I understand needing funds to keep going but god damn man by the time its done Elite dangerous will have the same shit in it lol.

Not exactly a scam but the amount of money they've collected has probably given them a lot of interest.
The game is still nowhere near finished and now split up in two. Both of them will probably never see a full release.

i donated to it when it first started, and still no beta testing. I played wing commander and the sequel and then privateer, was hoping good things for star shitizen, but nope. Not even a beta test. They keep changing things at the last minute. So i went with Eve Online, might only have 30k or fewer players on at a time but they add new content all the time and you can play for free. While you dont get to really "manually pilot" it is still nice. Then again space games are pretty niche so options are few, elite dangerous, Eve Online, no man's sky.

It's absolutely a scam at this point, last I saw they were still coming out with new "backer exclusive" ships that were selling for tens of thousands of real-world dollars without even having a playable game to speak of.
From what I understand they finally put something out but it's completely broken for the most part and now they're just promising more updates and content without actually delivering on any of it before moving onto the next promise.

When it actually releases one day i will give the game a look at and see if its worth it in till then i dont really care. But its probably a scam that will keep going till people stop giving it money.

I was watching it on the start, but its so log with so low progress, that it does not make sence to watch it. I usually stumble upon some nice videos of formation flying or something like that, but not enough to make me want to play it.

I've been playing off and on since they had the hangar preview. Right now it rife with bug and issues, but I still wouldn't call it a game. It is a sandbox as you're given an area to play in but there isn't really a direction, you need to figure out your own goal.

I do have to give them credit, it has come a long way in the past year.
