I've no idea what you're trying to say here. A CYOA book is still a book with a story from an author. The story doesn't come from your pet chicken, and the words inside the book still convey a story. It's just that the story has options for the reader to choose.

Agreed, they are basically reformatted comic books. Though I guess most would try and get around this by saying stuff like "they ask for your name!!" for the mc. But only having 1 'choice' doesn't make it grounds for a game. I really wouldn't consider most of these games 'games' though. I think you need meaningful choice (whether that's movement or story) to be an actual game.
