What do you think about incorporating voices into games? that the dialogues are spoken. I think that with the advancement of AI, voice actors will not be necessary for this.

If we're talking the games here I think I'm 100% against.

It's a waste even with voice actors. Takes up too much space, and most people mute and/or click before they're done talking.

It was done with some games recently, it's a whole new skill for sound engineering and unless you are good at it, it sounds way too fake. that new game i played, i have to mute it as the AI made it feel so fake

Not a fan. In all the games with voiced characters so far, I've turned the Voice volume to 0

I've yet to hear an AI-voiced game that sounded good. The programs just aren't very good at figuring out how to actually emote the lines being spoken, so they usually sound like someone just reading a script.

That's before they run into the problem I already have with voice-acted VNs, which is that the actor's voice rarely if ever lines up with the voice I imagine for the character, and I always much prefer the latter.

im against voiced game, especially if the voice are female with texan hillbilie drunk teen starbuck goldigger american accent when the character is japanese or else. because some voice are not fit to the character or just I prefer to imagine the voice.

I would like it if the voices where realistic and not robotic

most of the time when theres voices its just ripped from sex scenes and its very obvious but there has been a few games were the voice acting was professional and those were really good so i dont think its necessary but if youre going to add voices you gotta go all the way with it

for some reason I don't like having it voice acted. It kinda distracts me

fuck i hate amercain dubbing companies that do that

the native voice in ren'py is terrible. but I have seen some decent AI voiced games. I guess the ideal would be a ren'py plugin where you could customize your own voices for any game

It's good if done by a voice actor but it is very expensive and AI is just not that good.

I don't even play the music most of the time. Voices are wasted on me. But I'll point out that I see plenty of reviews of games which hit them for lacking animations. But a lot of animations are repetitive and add little value beyond that of a well-executed still drawing. And yet for a lot of folks, animation is expected. Maybe voice will be the same -- in a few years it'll be expected, even if the quality is sketchy.

I prefer not because unless it is done extremely well it usually is just a waste of resources/time.
