Families are vast, at what point do you stop thinking of a relative as being related? Where do you draw the line of what is incest and what isn't?
Having said that, I don't care about blood relation when it comes to feelings. Yes, offspring could be an issue, but since relations aren't defined by offspring that's another discussion. No offspring = no issue.
Having said that, outside games (hot!) I'm not that comfortable with parent/child relations, at least not until the child is old enough to stand on their own 2 feet in society, then it's their choice, (hopefully) devoid of lingering dependence.
But that sums up the difference between real life and games: consequences. A game has none that matter, real life has none that don't matter.

but when are they "far out"? Ask many people and you'll get different answers. Don't know if there is even a scientific reason to specify a point. Maybe by calculating the odds of divergent enough genetic material to arrive at more or less just as safe odds of healthy offspring as with a random person? (lots of odds)

I mean the amount of shared DNA outside your immediate family starts to shrink quite a bit, even first cousins only share on average around 12% with each other.
The offspring health risk usually come from multiple generations of inbreeding, and usually from the immediate family.
That's probably the reason why despite there being a ban on incestuous relations in most of the country, 1/3 of the US still has marriage between cousins legal.

Fantasy's one thing, since a lack of morality in fiction does little in the real world, but trying to live out degenerate fetishes outside of a VN can only lead to bad things.
