If you could pick any book, game, movie, tv show, or comic to live in after you die what would you pick?

Does Minecraft with mods count? There are so many mods that you can shape the world into whatever you want, and I think it would be nice to just explore and chill a bit

I dont see why it wouldnt count. Its basically a world you are entering with the idea of either it being random or you choosing how it is.

I 100% support this
Mistborn - Brandon Sanderson is a must read if you are into the high fantasy genre. its got magic, assassins, blood and gore, detailed political structure riddled with corruption, a pile of goo and bones that becomes very interesting, dudes with steel spikes shoved in their eyes. If you want to story to be more complicated then it is Mistborn is set in its own world, but the world is set within the Cosmere which is the universe several other of his books are set.

Malazon Books of the fallen - Steven Erikson - this is not for a 1st time reader it’s about empires, war, gods, and the cost of power. there is no main character. you dont get any explanation of how anything work (political system, magic, how/why gods are involved) your just throw in and expected to pick things up. it's pure chaos so much so i had to get AI to give a summary

Rather than following one main hero or a single quest, the series follows many overlapping stories across multiple continents and cultures, including:
  • Soldiers fighting brutal imperial wars
  • Immortal beings and gods manipulating events behind the scenes
  • Ancient races dealing with the aftermath of past atrocities
  • Ordinary people caught in world‑shaping conflicts
A common way readers describe it: It feels like stepping into a world that existed long before you arrived—and that won’t stop to explain itself.
I feel like Malazan would be a fairly bad world to live in.

Though i'd probably vibe well in Darujhistan.

.

that interests me immensely. I am absolutely gonna look into this

Interesting choices. Any particular reason why?
Simply: "Let's light this candle", i've always been fascinated with the "apocalypse", i'll either be on top or i'll die in a blaze of glory. Win win, i was also drunk when i commented this, so there's that. 😂

thats a solid response and being drunk always allows thoughts out, even if they arent good ones. But still thats a fair point

WH 40k, it might get a little dark at some point, but its gonna be awesome as well!

Thats very true. Though id probably hate it personally

Harry Potter (the world, not necessarily with the characters). So I could still hang out with my 'muggle' family/friends in normie life, but then disappear into the fantasy world with magic and dragons at random. Best of both worlds.

Well if you forget about the endless war, hardship and horrors from the warp, orks or the Empire itself..... Its not so bad :P
"Not so bad" said in reference to Warhammer 40K

Thats fair. Harry Potter would be enjoyable

Honestly my answer depends entirely on one thing: Can I bring internet access with me?

Because some of these fantasy worlds look amazing until you realize there’s no Wi-Fi, no shitposting, no random 3AM wiki rabbit holes, and I’d probably die from withdrawal...

Like yeah sure living in some magical RPG world sounds cool until I instinctively reach for Google every five minutes and remember I now have to "ask the village elder" instead.

Years of internet brainrot have made me too dependent on having 47 tabs open at all times.

Honestly maybe Pokémon. Chill life, cute monsters, healthcare seems free somehow, and my biggest problem would be losing arguments online about tier lists instead of paying taxes. :ROFLMAO:

Definitely a world with magic. It doesn't necessarily have to involve fireballs or flying, but a world where magic is accessible to everyone, makes everyday life easier, and lets you skip the annoying stuff. So probably something like the Forgotten Realms.
Magic would be amazing

You just wanna battle kids and take their money. Admit it. You just wanna steal their entire weekly allowance every week

Listen, if some 10 year old challenges me to a Pokémon battle with his entire life savings on the line that’s honestly between him and the local government for allowing child gambling culture to flourish.

I’m just participating in regional traditions.

I wasnt judging. Just wanted you to be honest

After I die I would really like to enter a loop in time, where I could get to live the exact start of my life again but that time with every bit of knowledge kept. Saving the world after trying too many times might me by hero fetish.

Told a close friend this idea and he said my mind would shatter after the second puberty

any world where making enough money to comfortably survive on would be enough for me ... :p, Assuming things stayed as easy as they are in these types of games, anything like stardew or similar farming sims would be great
