It's like anything else where the execution is more important than the genre. I think most of us are here instead of "That Hub site" because we want more than pointless fap fodder. Any story that is more than a dozen lines is going to have a mix of themes typically, but not exclusively comedy and romance. Horror can be like any other vehicle to carry a story down the road. Gore is probably a lot less disruptive than jump scares, but either can be made to work.

I've know problems with horror porn games. Not really into the grotesque, but some monsters, scary people yeah why not.

I could personally not stand the FnaF styled games but In Heat Honeymoon was bit more on the right side of things.
It leans much more towards psychological horror in that your choices can very easily lead to a game over.

i cant really think of any other than secrets of whispering pines, but i f someone makes one the i will give it a try otherwise i wont know if i like it.

I don't mind them. I played one years ago that now I can't remember. Was based in Japan and 2D. Very weird dark mind f. But a fun playthough.
