A prime example of taking the harem theme to the point of absurdity is Reunion. 30+ LI, I'm having trouble remembering the girls' names and knowing which one they're talking about.

Not every member in the harem needs to be equally present. I'd say a main cast of 3-5 LI's and then up to 10-15 reoccuring characters. Oneoffs on top of that as is required by the story you want to tell.

Thinking back, having huge harem is boring.
Due to numbers of characters, the girls usually would not be given much personality and end up being more or less generic, with one another.
The fewer characters the better, therefore we can enjoy more in-depth personality, their flavors, quirks etc.

3-5 I think or better only 3 for more development of each LI more than that tends LI will get few to no content or character development at all.

An actual harem shouldn't really have a limit, just go with whatever. But actual love interests within the harem should only be limited to 1-5 I would say, 10 at the most.

i see it mainly as a writing problem, so long as the author knowns what they are doing it should be fine having a big harem. but for me 6 is probably the limit. once you hit double digits your spreading yourself to thin

More than 3 is not woth. More than 3 keeps the creator mor focused in CG than de story. It need a lot of CG and i prefer quality and not quantity.
