I have read so many posts that complain about games, ask why a game doesn't have this or that, or ask why game updates take so long.

So how many of you have made a game or a mod before and are complaining because you know how the game could be built differently behind the scenes?

Not a full mod, but I did add a few QoL improvements to this one game, mostly to be able to control it with one hand. Some people prefer playing games one-handed...

I have tried mods before, but they don't last very long. I either gave up while making it or I didn't like it after making it and didn't publish it.

I made a few shitty textbased dosgames when i learned my way around my first computer.
And i modded a few mods...nothing from scratch since i cant make art/meshes and i didnt upload anything since i mostly edited other peoples work to fit my personal taste (especially changing males to females and removing dickfocused pictures from adult mods for oblivion/skyrim). But i'm terrible at it, especially in skyrim, oblivion mods were more easy to edit.

Making a game right now which will ship soon(ish).. and yes.. it's partially because I got sick of saying "I could do a better job" :D

I would love to make a game, but I haven't taken the plunge yet because I think that
1 - I don't have a really good PC to make cg/animations like I would want to
2 - I have a shared room so... I would be making updates every 34 years lmao

Never made a game. Or a mod that went any deeper than changing a few lines in an existing script.rpy file.

I don't usually complain about time between updates, but when I do comment on something that should/shouldn't be in a game it's usually because I'm either familiar with games that handle the feature in question differently or am aware that the dev has done more work for a worse result (e.g. devs that make innovative-yet-inconvenient changes to Renpy's save system). Other than that I try to stick to structural criticisms instead of coding advice.

I stay in my wheelhouse, in other words.

I have read the posts as well, I try not to complain and am too technoligy challenged to try to make one.

I've been meaning to try it but I just don't have the time to do it.

Creating games? No (atm). Mods? Yes: I made Duke Nukem 3d maps together with my a school friend in the 90's. And some rules.ini-"modding" for C&C RA. Creating some custom units for C&C Generals and C&C3 was the peak.

Never created a game.
As they say in French: "Criticism is easy, but art is difficult."
