discussion Have you ever wasted money on something you only used once or never used?

Not necessarily porn related but definitely can be, I was at least horny motivated with my purchases. But in essence have you ever went out of your way to spend money on something that you thought you would get a whole lot of use out of and then never used or used only once or the novelty instantly wore off?
The list of things I have is rather long but two ones of note were:

• A VR headset to play porn games on (the list of good games in VR ran out rather fast I found, that and I had little room to play it)
• An expensive drawing tablet to learn to draw smut and is still in it's original packaging.

But if I were to mention non horny related things they would also be:

• A full 3D tracking rig (also for VR but for animation) I have plugged them in and setup the software and not used them in over a year.
• A digital keyboard to learn piano with which is now a clothes rack.
• A 3D printer to print and paint various things that I never actually thought about until it arrived.

But did you find your money to be wasted? That depends on the apple. It may have been the best spending of your life, or it could have been the worst.

The most expensive one was definitely the PS4 VR. I bought it only to find out my head was too big to make it fit in a non-painful way. After that unfortunately I nevet tried it again.

Impulse buying can be really bad sometimes and I am very bad at managing my money.
I have stacks upon stacks of things that I have absolutely no use for or never even touched.
I also have an attic with about 100+ Board Games I've never played, because I started collecting them and then COVID hit...

The first time I regretted it, I bought a large teddy bear (teenage) but I didn't use it and it got damaged finally.
Second, I bought some leather shoes for jeans but Covid arrived and I couldn't use them and they were damaged because I also wore a trench coat and pants and I didn't have jeans

More than a few books I've bought and never read. I'll get around to them someday, I swear. And one particular book that I ordered for a stiff price, excitedly got the package and opened it and took it upstairs and went to put it on the shelf... and realized I was putting it right next to another copy of the same book which I had previously ordered and totally forgot about.

Yes. I have a large amount of games on steam I've never played. Especially from back with Humble Bundles and such, but some were direct purchases during steam sales. Fortunately I don't add to it that much anymore. Sales are generally reliable, so now I won't buy a game unless I am going to play it now. Or at least soon. It isn't 100% foolproof, but I buy a lot less now and at least start them. (Though I don't always finish them.)

I bought a Razer Tartarus with the intent to use it in Arma 3 so i could map more crap to the keyboard or vice-versa... Tried using it for something else and realized I hated the damn thing, couldn't map the thumbstick how I wanted AND the shape of it seemed to trigger my arthritis out of spite.
