I sometimes feel like I'm taking crazy pills, GTA only ever got worse after San Andreas, from gameplay depth to actually likeable characters or writing.

For a hundred fucking dollars, I'd expect Kiwami 1 -quality combat system, a map where there are actually meaningful things to find, gunplay on the level of at least CS:GO, and being able to make actually meaningful choices in the story, like an RPG. Even in the comments here I see people starting to bend over and start peeling their asscheeks apart for Rockstar's latest copypasted crap that is going to have the depth of a washbasin.

Are you the same people who bought Fallout 4 for your smart fridge and Skyrim Fucktarded Edition for your toaster?

Heck the creators had the gta 5 character swap system in gta sa between CJ and cesar

For me it was gta iv i really like the main story and dlc then hated trevor on gta 5 horrific character arc the tlad waisted potential the whole thing to me was a 7/10 game at most the online took a year before it was stable now the mp is beyond trash along with a monthy payment plan F that. I think it was the fact that GTA was a flagship against censorship which was common back in the time. Until San Andreas just the fact of "being against the system" was enough - and games were pretty solid, can't deny them that. GTA IV changed things a bit being more serious in its story, some people liked it some didn't. GTA V went back to being silly fun, it was good but nothing extraordinary. The problem is what they did with the multiplayer is a crime, same with multiplayer of RDR2 so I am a bit skeptical towards GTA VI, but no matter how bad it will be it will sell just because it's GTA.

Every time I open YouTube to watch something, there's always someone praising GTA6 as the best game ever, or that it's going to revolutionize the market. Rockstar is winning award after award before even announcing the game. I don't want to be pragmatic about it, but they're putting a lot of faith in the project before it's even out and this becomes a problem. I'll never forget Cyberpunk 2077, of course we're talking about different companies, but I wouldn't put my hand in the fire for any company. Now about the price. From now on, they're going to dictate the rules for game prices from now on and the entire industry will follow suit. Netflix did it and the rest of the streaming companies followed suit, so I wasn't surprised when Rockstar did it.

There is no game worth 100$, that price will be most likely due to inflation. TBH, I won't be getting GTA 6 even if it was 60$. I didn't even play GTA V, not even free version on Epic store giveaway, for some reason I just didn't care about it. To this day my fav GTA is San Andreas.

I genuinely don't understand what people find in GTA series. No matter how many times I tried it, it never clicked. Just boring driving back and forth with no sense of progression of any kind.

Honestly, haven't bought much full priced games outside of a few multiplayer focused games like Street Fighter 6 or Helldivers 2 in a while. Next one would be MH Wilds. If they raise the standard price to 100 gonna buy even less, but I know I am in the minority cause I have to believe the average gamer must have a good bit of disposable income to be keeping up with these microtransactions. Hell pretty sure Riot's $500 skin sold way more than I thought it would

When you look at indie games price, it gets difficult to justify paying a 100 bucks for one game when. You could get 10 games or more with at least 10 to 20 hours of gameplay for each... Sure I loved every GTA games I played, but man no way I'm paying this price, it's just a pretty bad deal.

Remember sense gta 5 has been tossed out they purchased fivem now that team is being whipped shutdown many mod sites then went down the oh we sorry path allowing sp mods but at the same time having horrific security for the mp.

Then you got the mass shutdown of all grand theft auto ps2 era game mods before they tossed out that trash defensive edition then delisted the og games. Now there doing the same to gtaiv

Gtaiv is still unplayable without the amazing working done by fans but rockstar continues to shut them down and small patch the steam version to counter mods

So i have a huge doubt they will allow any sort of mods at all but at the same time i see them adding cheat code dlc packs.

Oh we can also go down the patch of blocking linix/unix to access gta5 killing of steam deck support because "cheaters"
