Here is a mostly unsorted collection of related facts/ideas from outside the porn game sphere:

1. There are historical reports of spouse exchange or offering wives to visiting strangers from cultures that have low genetic variation due to exceptionally low population density, such as South Sea islands and Eskimos.
2. For population numbers to be stable, every woman must have one daughter on average. More/less for rising/falling population numbers. The number of sons/men is relatively unimportant in this respect. That means men are expendable and women are not, which is why usually only men work as soldiers or miners etc. However, strict monogamy means that if men are too scarce, some women must remain childless against their will. In World War I, France lost so many young men that a serious proposal was made in this Catholic country to permit men to have multiple wives. This seems a good basis for alternate-reality harem games.

(If not, the high incidence of procreation between slave holders and slaves causes complications.)

7. Some Muslim countries reportedly do not treat certain male-male sexual relations as homosexuality, while punishing very harshly what they do consider male homosexuality.
8. The Hebrew Bible is a source of some sexual practices that we would consider beyond the pale today. Men could have multiple wives. If a married man died, his brother was obliged to marry the widow(s). If the dead man was childless, the brother was moreover obliged to immediately impregnate the widow, and the resulting child became the dead man's heir. In war it was normal practice to kill all the men and boys but spare some young women and girls to make them slave wives. These had a different status than other slaves, and a different status than other wives.
9. In Egypt or somewhere around Egypt arose the absolutely horrific practice of sewing shut the vaginas of girls. This made first sex for the victims exceptionally painful. It also made it somewhat painful for the men, which was an unwanted side effect. It is probably no accident that male circumcision, which reduces this side effect, was introduced around the same time. If a culture wants to encourage its men to rape their mutilated brides in the wedding night, or if it wants to encourage its soldiers to rape as many women as possible in war, then circumcising all male infants can help. I suppose a universe where family genetically cannot make offspring, so society has no opinions about intrafamilial sex of any sort.

I guess men would be shamed and admonished into leaving their mom to make "real" families of their own and produce new generations, but if that was for some reason (beyond laziness) not an option, then nobody would see it as strange or negative.

As for the moms (parents, really), they would consider it a normal service to keep the kids out of trouble.

I remember a movie from like the 70s or maybe 80s. A lot of men were outside controlled areas and tried to fight for freedom. If captured they were in trouble. In some circumstances killed. Humans have a genetic failsafe to keep us from creating offsprings with members of our own family. There are multiple cases in history, where when this failsafe was ignored, the results were devastatingly tragic. Well, not really a failsafe per say, but let's just go with that. Habsburg jaw, for example, the royal family of ancient Egyptians, who had such short lives and so many malformations it was no joke. Tutankhamun is a good example. The reason why incest is taboo isn't because it would cause societal or religious troubles, it's because of the terrible suffering the children of such mixing would go through, they would live a tragic existence.

However, lets say we have a universe where they overcome this. The Futaverse idea might be an option, where the 3rd gender, the futa ends up becoming a genetic scrambler for the population. So you have a game where you have a futa screwing the family and getting screwed by the family, mixing the genes better than a blender does a smoothies in the morning.

Another option, is a universe where you have law-inforced genetic scrambler for your genetics when you turn 18. So, even if you go about shagging the sister, the baby could end up completely different from the two of you, like you have 2 europeans and you get a chinese baby with dark skin.

Now if we're talking about psychological factors, all the porn games are off their rockers and don't represent a drop of reality, but that's what makes them fiction and fantasy, where such acts should be kept. This is also why we like them, they are unreal that should never be touched in the real world.

Going back to the topic of the thread: As for what games properly explore other worlds/alternate world customs, Mythic Manor is quite an interesting example regarding this. It does well to go indepth with regard to various customs and backgrounds of mythics.

In terms of games with pretty good worldbuilding, Android Life by dolcemate does a pretty decent job of portraying what it would be like if all men died and are replaced with androids (with the exception of you)

Karlsons gambit is also an interesting take on the femdom alternate world although i havent really played it, so i cant give a review of how well it handles the worldbuilding.

I think you misunderstood me. I mean that too close relatives could not conceive. When the sperm met the egg, some cellular mechanism saw a too close match and prevented or aborted the fertilization.

So there would be no suffering, misshapen offspring. The only objection against incest would be the power dynamics, which is arguably a smaller problem than broken DNA. It would be more of a "Why don't you take your societal responsibility and go make a real family instead of fucking your sister every day?"

Yeah, that makes more sense. I think what it could be is a simple mutation of the immune system. Basically, the genetic material, the sperm would have a marker that would be identifiable by the woman's immune system and cause her body to immediately attack and destroy the fecundated ovum as well as any remaining sperm. This could further be exploited with diseases where the woman's immune system attacks any sperm except the close family's or any sperm at all. This, however, could also become a disease, where the markers attach themselves to blood cells and tissue cells, resulting in the impossibility of a close relative to donate blood or organs.

Agreed. Desert Stalker pulls it off really well. Havent tried Twinewood.
For a more light hearted gender-role swap game, i would recommend Twisted World, or its remake.
