I usually avoid sandbox games personally. I prefer to just read and make choices to get the scenes I want.

Hate them except in some rare cases. I hate needing a walkthrough or cheat mod. I dropped Being a DIk because i dislike sandbox, even if it has great renders.

If there is a good amount of content and it's streamlined in a way that makes it easy to keep track of what you can do then yes.
If it bogs down to spam clicking around all the time with large amounts of grind (stats and whatnot) then I skip them.
IE it has a fuckton of locations with no explanations / info/hintlog then it's a badly designed one and I tend to skip them.

Contentious topic. This might be a hot-take, but I feel as if sandbox games has earned their ill-repute because the games which include it, always end up being development nightmares because of bloat and false promises. A sandbox game is figuratively a great concept because of it's open approach to pursue what you desire. But It's never been executed as such. The only game I saw which was close was Solvalley, but even that ended up feeling bloated out eventually making it tedious to progress, not to speak of it's time in development.

Are there any good games with nudist characters out there besides Nudist School? It seems like they all get abandoned after a couple of releases. I'm not interested in a game that just has an event or two at a nudist beach. I'm also not interested in lesbian games.

Headmaster seems promising with the Emily character, but nobody votes for her content on patreon.

I agree that Headmaster seems promising. I think however as it's just going to be a matter of being patient as regards to her content being fleshed out more. Though yes the patreon votes have an impact I believe it's primarily about order of added content as opposed to just more and more content. What I mean is that the plan is for each girl to have a punishment system of some sort implented within the game which will be tied into their individual storyline and the completion of each of those individual storylines will contribute to the overall success of the experiment/school/class. Then there are also the storylines for each individual staff member as well as a few side stories such as the Drama production, the D&D group, the health checkups amongst many others. I know that the next few updates are planned around Faye, Liz and Alice (I believe in that order) and I think there have been hints that there be some intertwining of Faye and Ninas stories too.

Ultimately what I'm saying is that this has a lot of promise but some considerable patience with the pace of development is sadly necessary

That would actually depend on how extreme your kinks are. My favourites are The Hunter and Project Myriam both do contain bestiality, though so they might not be for everybody..

- Watching this one mainly waiting for it to be completed, played the opening and it was interesting the art is definitely different as well.
Thezander - With Rain Comes the Flood Redux
- Remake of a completed game, the original isn't bad but could be improved which hopefully this will do.
recreation - Bad Memories
- Probably my favorite one out of the bunch as the interactions are fun, can choose Male of Female protagonist with obvious differences in some scenes and text.
3DRComics - Thirty Days
- Just watching this one currently but it looks like it could be promising.
yahotzp - Champions of Liberty Institute of Training
- Female Protagonist in a Super Hero setting, the start was intereseting waiting for completion.

Dumb Koala Games
- There is quite a few released most have Female Protag, some do have male or switch back and fourth this is a link to their list.
Thezander - With Rain Comes the Flood
- They are doing a remake of this, it was alright was a little off the remake should hopefully resolve these issues.
Pent Panda - Teen Zombie in Your Cabin
- This one is a sandbox with some low grinding but didn't feel horrible like others tend to get, their other games are decent as well.
GDS - Chloe18
- Sandbox with a Intersting style, I ended up not finishing it completely. There are some spinoffs as well that focus on Chloe as well that were good.
