I tried convincing my friends to play Titanfall with me. took till a year after Titanfall 2 release till they joined me
Even if you only play the story mode it's worth it, it has a short but intense story... I miss my titan

titanfall 2 is still one of my all time favorite games. I'm still coping for a Titanfall 3. Apex legends did not fill up that void

Maybe I just have lazy friends but I stopped reccomending games that they never play at the end hahaha

But I always recomment Dragon Age Origin, Tyranny and both Pathfinder games

Such a Sharp Pain is good tho I am not overly fond of manipulative characters

Proud Father and Buried Desires where good tho, sadly for one particular reason they got cancelled

There is some gay trap kinda shota in "But I'm The Bad Guy", but it's not the focus of the game.

There is a lack of those. But there are some great scenes in Such a Sharp Pain
Eventually, I'l be able to see that. *sigh* Oh well.

As to Others.... Retsym / Myster had some interesting games. The models were wonky, but the animations had some nice jiggle, and for some reason that and the whole "thought bubble" mechanic of taking emotions and reinforcing ideas made me think of Disco Elysium. I really like the games, but nearly all of them feel unfinished and abandoned.

I love immersive sim RPGs... but they seem to be cursed, with companies going under after finishing these magnum opus's. I'd love to know what people's favorite immersive sims are, see if there are any I am missing as well.

For context: An immersive sim is a game where you have many ways to approach a problem. Immersive sim RPGs usually address this via skills of some sort. Examples of immersive sims include:

Deus Ex (1, 2, HR, MD)
Arx Fatalis
Prey
Vampire the Masquerade : Bloodlines

To a lesser extent, some more well known Western RPGs would fall close to the category:
Skyrim, Fallout, etc.
But while skills allow you to kill X person with an arrow, a knife, your fists, a fireball, etc.... you still need to kill X person to progress. Which is why I want to acknowledge them, but separate out what I feel are true immersive sims.

Of course, you all may disagree. If so, what does immersive sim mean to you?

I’m not really sure what a sim is to you, but a sim to me is a game like the sims 4, rimworld, etc. something where you can relax and slowly make a civilization.

It’s kind of annoying finding games with good mind control. If I had to name one right now, I’d say Jikage Rising is pretty good, though it may not be your thing since it takes place in the Naruto setting and therefore is anime art (which some do not like).

If you like 2D, I suggest Snow Haze. Really liked the artstyle, but the llot was a let down for me (I hate mind control).

The word "sim" does kind of muddy the waters. Those I'd would consider "simulators" of various respects, while the "immersive sim" tag is often used in conjunction with other gaming tags like "FPS" , "RPG", etc.

But by its definition, "An immersive sim (simulation) is a video game genre that emphasizes player choice. Its core, defining trait is the use of simulated systems that respond to a variety of player actions which, combined with a comparatively broad array of player abilities, allow the game to support varied and creative solutions to problems, as well as emergent gameplay beyond what has been explicitly designed by the developer.", one could arguably place simulator type games into the "immersive sim" category.

I know you aren't gonna agree but I enjoy Farming Simulator franchise. Definitely not your traditional "RPG" but it has elements.

Err, coming from someone who has seen a lot of ugly stuff, I can pretty much assure you a proper shotgun load to the nuts won't be leaving anyone suffering for an hour, let alone two. Unless you're dealing with one big (meaning fat) motherf'er, the pellet spread is probably hitting the femoral arteries and you're goin bye bye in a few minutes. Closer range is just gonna leave you bled out from the gaping wound and shock. Cauterizing isn't going to help here either.

Now, if you want to really make that game rapist pay, look up William "Action" Jackson. That guy had a really rough couple of days.

I've heard a .22 up the asshole can be a very drawn out and painful affair.

Foot of the Mountain.

It tricked you by having some progression initially, and then at some point turned on infinigrind mode, where nothing progressed. Took me too long to realize.

Does Skyrim really come close? It's a sandbox sure, but when it comes to actual content there tend to be very little choice outside of the occasional scripted option. And stealth archer tends to outshine almost everything.

It's also designed so there's no real need to choose how you approach things- given enough time you can easily be perfect at everything.

Dishonored (all 3 of them) would probably fall within that context as you can get through each "problem" in numerous ways depending on how you like to play in your current playthrough, maybe have a look at that if you haven't already.

Dishonored is an awesome game. I've played all the parts and they're all great.
