Hearts of Iron 4. My friend was super into Hoi 2 and up until 3 years ago, didn't want to play Hoi 4 saying it was feature incomplete. Now he has thousands of hours in Hoi 4 due to mods.

This is one that tempts me a lot. I played a lot of Age of Empires throughout the years and some other strategy type games but HoI intimidates me a bit, but I consider buying it an d trying it every time one of them goes on sale through steam

Any Slonique game, because that dev made good looking games that always ended up either ending the story on a cliffhanger with no continuation, or ending the game with some bs ending after forcing you to go through all this crap to try and get the right ending only for it to either not give you ANYTHING or in one game's case, have you think you finally get to hook up with the leading lady only for her to strap you down and peg you.

Desert Stalker is great game, but seems I should also try Mist

Desert Stalker is #1 by a wide margin. Great renders, and storytelling. Incredible.

I remember playing this game with the MC waking up in a city filled with mist. He went out to battle monsters, and built a bunch of stuff in the hotel they were staying at. I remember some of the characters being kind of cute. I think the game was abandoned though.


Mist is up there with being one of my favorites.

I think you're talking about zombie retreat, but it is completed. If I'm not wrong they're doing the second one.
