Damn, it was abandoned? I downloaded it a while back, but never got around to playing it.
Would you say it's a waste of time to try it, or is it not worth it due to the rework?

I would say even with the rework it is still worth to play.

But at the end you will be like "oh, what could have been".

On the bright side, a small dev team is working on a spiritual successor: "Dark Dimensions".
