It's like asking what your favorite song is, it changes all the time especially depending on the mood.

I have a sub-folder amongst my ~320 completed games for 's' ranked ones. Not on my pc to check but Akabur, Clymenia, Natyusyo, and all the Black Souls stuff is def in it.

Now if only I could better chip away at the like 600 strong 'unplayed' folder lol.

Personally I never clicked with Proud Father or Eternum

What are some games that just didn't do it for you?

Ashes of War by CTStudio. Made in Unity, mostly a VN. It has a ship combat feature, but then again I've seen a Ren'py game that has a similar system to AoW's ship combat so it being ported to Ren'py actually would be better for it since it's like 90% VN. Heck, I know a Ren'py game(Adventurer Trainer) that has a combat system derived from Octopath Traveler and it works great.

Guild of Spicy Adventures by Hikkeiru. Made in Unity, not a pure VN since it has sandbox elements, but they're mainly travelling from 1 place to another to start the story/routes/scenes. Think of Goddess' Whim, Champion of Realms, & Corrupted Kingdoms. These 3 I've mentioned are made in Ren'py, and the gameplay is very similar to GoSA.

2 of Winterfire's games. Legacy of Hestia, & Vox Gremory. I understand it being made in Unity since the dev did not intend for it to really be a VN, but if the game is 80-90% VN and with all the games I've seen made in Ren'py with their unique/great custom systems/combat, I think Ren'py would be a better engine. I guess the dev is just more used to Unity that's why it's made there.

I just hate Unity & the performance issues & bugs it brings which you wouldn't find in ren'py.

Idk, I just didn't like them. Probably due to content preferences.

Something Unlimited

There was a Ren'Py demo I think but I don't think it took off
