It's hard to recommend something without knowing what you like.

Finished Death's Door recently, is a beautiful game, with a challenging and fluid combat and Great Soundtrack.

Has it been confirmed as abandoned? Or is that just based on it having that tag because the dev went dark? Nefastus has been known to disappear for long periods before, he reportedly has some physical mental health issues, he has been known to get in a rut where he just goes underground for long periods then pops back up months later with a surprise update.

Zombie game where the protagonist used to be a teacher. Starts with him and his daughter in their apartment, then he gets daughter's friend, he mother, a medical student all in his harem. Can't remember the name of it. Great game, though.

The Bioshock and Dead Space series are good single player, story driver shooters, if those are up to your interests. They're not too demanding for hardware either.

I've been enjoying going to more peaceful games recently Minecraft, Teraria, Trailmakers, Stormworks. PvP games are fun but its always nice to just boot up something to play and relax too

Try "Terra Nil". Really relaxing and beautiful, has a easy mode called "zen mode". Great game!

Go back to some of the old single player first person shooters?

Half Life series, Far Cry series. BioShock, and not the least it's predecessor System Shock 2 (man, the mood on that!)

STALKER Call of Pripyat is also good

METRO series is really great too. Good atmosfere, sometimes action, somtimes terror, great story for a single player shooter game.
