I typically veer towards games where you can get all the content without needing to replay constantly: grandmothers house, a petal amongst thorns (complete and sequel also complete), light of my life (stellar storyline and artwork), the Inn (not complete but this developer is amazing and has other completed work), WVM (not complete but author is working hard), Rick and Morty another way home (do the night mirror version)

The first version is good as well. Much slower burn, but worth playing I think. Assuming you can deal with the ugly dude.

Single Again has one but it's a bit of a slog.
Fiery Scion has a couple, but a lot of LIs so you don't get much time with them. I can't think of any other names off the top of my head, but there are many more - it's not at all uncommon.

Summertime Saga has a few as does Taffy Tales, and Four Elements Trainer has some, Light of My Life is good if you want a VN and don't mind incest.

I think it depends on what you're specifically looking for. The genre is pretty expansive so you'll see plenty of RPGs, platformers, and obviously how wide spread visual novels are.
