DK has great girls and good artwork. But I would have to say they tend to look kinda similar sometimes, a bit more variation would be great. And yes his 'games' are more like kinetic novels and kinda fail in the game aspect compared to most VN.
As far as sandbox goes: A DK art version of The Headmaster would be pretty awesome

While it may (or may not) be abandoned 'Midlife Crisis' has a fit girl (the older daughter's friend). It is also well written with humor and musical references.

I'm not sure I follow you.
Why would you want to have a censored version?
If the game is more than fap content why would it need to be cut?
An interesting game with a story or gameplay and 18+ content is already good! Why cut 18+ content out of them?
To make them more mainstream? I disagree, we need to push the boundaries of mainstream, not put good things in a Procrustean bed.

Like I said, in some games, the sex appears gratuitous... it does not add to the story, the knowledges about the characters, the immersion or the world building. Granted, some few games do it correctly, addressing one of those, but if they don't, standard porn (outside a game) would do just as well, if it does not add to the game.
For me, adult games are games first , adult second (some people may disagree, and thats perfectly fine) and as such, for me again, the adult parts should mesh well with the game (even if visual novel games) component.

Mad Island (formerly Survival Game) by emade+ sounds like something you'd be interested in.

Though it is a emade+ game so beware if you're not familiar with their content.

Vinland by HuitiemeGame had a tall muscular viking redhead named Freydis. That game has been abandoned for a while, so I don't even see it here. But she looked fantastic and had a great fiery personality, so I still hope that game might come back some day. Unfortunately not much content there, but still enough to prove she'd be capable of an amazing death by snu snu.
