discussion Game Name Confusion (Big/Bad Brother/Bobby)

I'm completely confused by the Big Brother games. I've seen so many different versions and names for these games and I don't know where to start.

I'd like to play it, but there seems to be multiple games, or perhaps multiple versions and multiple remakes.

Is Bad Bobby connected to big brother?
Is "saga" a part of the name or not?
Why have I seen multiple renpy remakes? (Which remake do I want?)
Which is the "best" version?
Are some of these games spinoff games of the main one?
I assume the renpy version is better than the original.

If someone could at least tell me where to start, what game(s) to play next, and what to avoid, I'd appreciate it.

From what I know it was a game that got popular but was abandoned at some point, then multiple creators made their own sequence of the history.

Big Brother was one of the biggest games years back- arguably the flagship of the "largely useless 18 year old kid becomes Man Of The House and seduces/molest his two sisters, mom, and horny aunt" genre. It was genuinely good, lots of grind but beautiful renders and you felt actually rewarded when you accomplished something.

Then it got abandoned, and since then dozens of devs have been trying and failing to recreate/complete the magic. Couldn't tell you which one is the "best" since I haven't really played the remake attempts; honestly from what I see none of them is rated as highly as the original.

Bad Bobby Saga isn't directly connected, it's more what you get when you ask your mom for Big Brother and she says "we have Big Brother at home". Less coherent story, more openly rapist MC- I call him "demented hobbit". Also got fairly popular, also abandoned, also had a few remake attempts (which have also been pretty unsuccessful). Like Big Brother, I can't really tell you which one is best, but again none of the imitators are as well-rated as the original.
