Gadgeteer has said before that the Translate feature will be available for all once the final version goes up. But during development, it's a bonus feature for the top tier. So if you want that feature but don't wanna pay, just be patient and wait for the full release to drop.

Otherwise, as has been pointed out, MC does not understand Russian, so it makes sense for us as the players experiencing the game through that POV not to understand it either.

In the meantime, I've found that Google Translate's in-camera-translation feature works ok as a temporary workaround. The translation it spits out isn't perfect, but at least I get the general gist of what's being said (in Russian).

Hrmmm... I suppose it could happen, but it would be a fair ways to go to get there, I think. Right now, neither the MC nor Kira can really stand the thought of their mom. I think the MC would probably forgive her sooner than Kira, for sure. I doubt that's where the dev will go with this, but it's possible. Only Gadgeteer knows.
