I just tried and it worked. Did you put in the password? If not, you can find it under the download links in the OP. It's the only thing I think of that would give you that message, other than a corrupted file, which just means you have to try and download it again.

Those having trouble with the password, copy and paste into Notepad, then copy it again. Copying from the OP picks up an extra carriage return which causes the problem.

Because I don't have any problems with the old saves or MC names.

Buckle up for this explanation:
There were some syntax errors in updates 4 and 5 that I didn't notice until I was cleaning up before this update. Those errors fixed saves from update 2 that broke, but they were never meant to be there, so i rebroke really old saves to fix the syntax error.

The only fix is to either edit your variables so that [mc.name] = 'the name you want to use' or start a new game and fast-forward through the story to where you want to pick it up.

I enjoyed playing through the game again. It's interesting enough that I didn't mind doing that, even without fast forwarding.

I played over again too. I went to load my second to last save, but it popped me in at a different moment near that spot, but not what the save screenshot showed. So I just said fuck it, and played the entire game from the beginning.

It's not that long yet that it's a slog. And the story is fun, the renders are great and the kittens make for excellent company. Definitely not a game I mind replaying when an update pops. Whether it's necessary or not.

If you search posts in the thread, you may find your answer, but since we are here, what version are you trying to run?

Did you enter the password from the OP?

If you are trying to run this on Android, there is a post that may help you 5 up from yours. Seems there may be a copy/paste issue for the password on Android. I didn't have a problem when I tested on my tablet, but I probably just got lucky.

Did you "copy/paste" that password?
If so, you captured a space at the beginning or end when you copied.
(Paste to a blank txt file and check that.)

So... did they break into some mall and use the Santa display while no one was around? I can't think of anywhere in the apartment they're in right now that they could set up that full display. Thinking of them getting about outdoors in those getups... It hasn't even been a week yet and these kittens have wormed their way into MCs home and our hearts. Brilliant.
