wrong password. Well thats annoying
I just downloaded it and tried the password, it worked perfectly.

There are three possible causes for your problem:
1: you missed something in the password, either when typing it or if you copy-pasted it. If the latter, suggest that you paste it into something like windows notepad first, and then copy it from there.
2: the program you used for unpacking the file is buggy and works wrong. Recommended software for Windows is 7-zip, also avoid a software called 9-zip since it is known to not work correctly. 7-zip has a mac version too, should work the same. For Android I don't know.
3: Something went wrong with your download, and the file is faulty. Only solution is to redownload.

Also, if you look back a few pages you can see that this question has been asked several times, you're not the only one who has these problems, but these are the solutions.

Cause I'm an idiot and deleted the images out when cleaning up old alleyway scenes. I will get it fixed and post updated links on patreon/BMAC

EDIT: links fixed in the usual places.
Uhm which links were fixed? I just downloaded the Pixeldrain for PC from here and there is no change? I didn't check the others so thought I ask the question.

Cheers

Does anyone have a WORKING password for this VN? Neither of the pw's in this thread are good.
There is your solution.

It is on the first page and all I did was copy it then paste it with zero issues. So I suspect it is one of the reasons directly above this post

I play the new update a yesterday. I loved it, my only beef has been addressed before, and I also agree that your frequent updates are a better plan than bigger updates with many months between updates. So I may not like that I can finish an update so quickly, But I don't have to wait to long for the next day to be updated.

I checked back again and I still see no change? Which usual places do you refer to?

Did you actually read the post? It tells you.

BMAC is Buy Me a Coffee. Links for both in the OP.

This is right from the quote in your post. Don't worry, eventually it will be here. You just have to let the paying customers get their turn first. Think of them as bug testers. They find all of the big errors so they can be fixed, and the free players can gripe about the minor ones.

Actually, no I missed that last line. Just skimmed and saw.. Thanks for the clarity here.

Sorry, all, but I have another password question. And because I did read the earlier posts, and I did try the steps outlined there, I'm not super hopeful anyone will have an answer, but hey. Maybe I'll get lucky.

So, to specify in detail what I've tried to get the password to work:
  • I have tried selecting it and copying via right-click context prompt, then pasting via right-click context prompt.
  • I have tried selecting it and copying via Ctrl + C , then pasting via Ctrl + V.
  • I have tried both of the above, but this time I copy-pasted into Notepad, then from Notepad into 7-Zip (I also tried copy-pasting it into my browser address bar and then copying from there, because that's often the best way to clear invisible formatting).
  • I have tried manually typing it in.
  • Since I was already using 7-Zip, I wasn't able to replicate that particular troubleshooting, but I did try with WinRAR to see if a different program would avoid the issue.
  • I have tried copy-pasting it into the password field in the "Extract files..." context menu.
  • I have tried copy-pasting it into the password field in the "Extract to FiTDay7a-PC\" context menu.
  • I have downloaded the archive from all three sources. When they all had the same problem, I tried re-downloading them.
Anything else I can try that I've missed?

Edit: I started wondering if it was my antivirus or VPN or something corrupting the files, but then I downloaded another password-protected archive from a different game thread using pixeldrain and copy-pasting the same way worked just fine then, so... can rule out file corruption? Probably?

I thought I was going crazy too, and that it wasn't working no matter what I tried, then randomly I typed it in instead of copying it and it worked on like the 5th try. I don't know why.

Just found my own weird-ass solution, too, so thanks for sharing your random answer. Mine was completely different, but I imagine you lending your chaotic problem-solving energy to me was part of the solution.

What I did (add it to the list!):
I selected the password text, then I inspected the source and copied the plain text directly from the markup. That's it. That's all I did.

The fact that this worked suggests to me that the site might not be playing nice with some browsers and might be inserting some style element or something if you try to copy-paste normally. Not sure why copy-pasting to Notepad or the URL bar didn't work, though...

@Gadgeteer - the password in the OP has an extra non-printable "Zero-width space" character in it again. You're not the first dev this has happened to, heh. Selected the pw line, and pasted into Sublime Text (which won't hide nonprintables like Notepad often does), and:

My recommendation: edit the OP, type an extra "K" before the final K of the password, hit enter so there's a blank line below the password, then delete the extra K character. Don't delete the extra blank line. This should reduce password error reports.

(Edit to correct which dev I tagged. Whoops.)

For users: type it by hand. It'll always work that way.

Also, when using Chrome on Windows (it might work similarly on other browsers/platforms as well), pasting text with CTRL+SHIFT+V (when updating the OP) will force it to paste the text as plain text (also shown on the right-click menu when pasting text into a text box).

THIS! copy the password, scroll down to the add comment bar, paste, copy again, now paste into the zip

worked like a charm

I had a real good giggle when I decided to paste the new password (P@sswordsRhard) into notepad++ to find that it also has an invisible zero-width space at the end of it. So brace for more "password doesn't work" posts.

For anyone having a problem with the password: simplest solution is to paste the password into 7zip/Winrar/whatever, take note of the last character of the password, backspace until you delete it, then retype it. That way you can be sure you got rid of any of the dreaded zero-width spaces.

Edit: Side note to @Gadgeteer , I tried replying to the OP and toggling BBCode to see if I could figure out what's causing the zero-width space, but the password doesn't actually show up in it. So apologies if this is what you were already doing, but would putting the password in [code] or [icode] tags maybe fix it?
