They are a piece of art, take example of any dark piece you can't imagine how creative the developer might have thought.
Like in raptus Or BHH the level of darkness is just amazing no ordinary person can even think of something like that so I definitely think it's just art

Some games are beautiful and can be considered art, I think.
Others are simply products for immediate consumption.
