I'll give my seal of approval to pretty much that whole list, but i go back even further... Phantasie 1-3, the entire SSI Gold Box collection, Ultima 1-4, Early Might and Magic, early Wizardry series, etc. And for strategy games, I'm an old school Warcraft/Starcraft player, as well as a few others. Lords of the Realm 2 was, by far, one of my favorites, it melded real-time and turn-based pretty well. Turn Based until you went into battle, then it switched to real-time. And Heroes of Might and Magic, especially 3 and 5, are still some of the best games I've played to this day.Rpgs like.
Jade Empire
Knights of the old Republic
Mass effect
Suikoden
Final Fantasy 7/8/10
Dragon Age
Dragons Dogma.
Strategy.
Civilization 2
Railroad tycoon 2
X-com
X-com terror from the deep
When we talk about older RPGs there shouldn't be missing the classic Dark Eye: Northland Trilogy. Esp. Shadow over Riva.I'll give my seal of approval to pretty much that whole list, but i go back even further... By the time that came out, I had moved on to consoles mostly, as I didn't have a PC of any sort for a few years there. I held onto my C=64 until around 93, then didn't get a PC until around 98. At which point I was neck deep in the Baldur's Gate and Fallout games. When we talk about older RPGs there shouldn't be missing the classic Dark Eye: Northland Trilogy. Esp. Shadow over Riva.
Should give it a try, especialy the soundtrack is worth it. By now it is also available on steam, so no problems with newer systems.By the time that came out, I had moved on to consoles mostly, as I didn't have a PC of any sort for a few years there.
