I'm partial to open world RPG and RTS games, personally. Total Annihilation, anyone?

In the past I have played a lot of shooters (Unreal Tournament). Now I like to play action-adventure (Assassin's Creed), survival (Raft) or simulations (Satisfactory).

Souls like
FPS like Fallout, Elder Scroll, RDR2.
Zelda Like
Horror game. (Resident, Silent Hill etc.)

Rpgs like.
Jade Empire
Knights of the old Republic
Mass effect
Suikoden
Final Fantasy 7/8/10
Dragon Age
Dragons Dogma.
Strategy.
Civilization 2
Railroad tycoon 2
X-com
X-com terror from the deep
I'll give my seal of approval to pretty much that whole list, but i go back even further... Phantasie 1-3, the entire SSI Gold Box collection, Ultima 1-4, Early Might and Magic, early Wizardry series, etc. And for strategy games, I'm an old school Warcraft/Starcraft player, as well as a few others. Lords of the Realm 2 was, by far, one of my favorites, it melded real-time and turn-based pretty well. Turn Based until you went into battle, then it switched to real-time. And Heroes of Might and Magic, especially 3 and 5, are still some of the best games I've played to this day.

Metroidvania games like Hollow knight, Ori and the blind forest

I like strategy and RTS, FPS only with a good story, like Mass Effect or Deus Ex

When we talk about older RPGs there shouldn't be missing the classic Dark Eye: Northland Trilogy. Esp. Shadow over Riva.

By the time that came out, I had moved on to consoles mostly, as I didn't have a PC of any sort for a few years there. I held onto my C=64 until around 93, then didn't get a PC until around 98. At which point I was neck deep in the Baldur's Gate and Fallout games.

Should give it a try, especialy the soundtrack is worth it. By now it is also available on steam, so no problems with newer systems.

I might do that, if I ever get a break between job, writing, and Ark with my family... Added to the steam Wishlist, just in case. Thanks for the recommendation, much appreciated.

I'm partial to search action games, and proper adventure games.

I love JRPG, which is why when adult games mix with the genre, I get sucked into the games.

Colony/city building games, farming sims, RPGs.

FPS although I haven't played one in years. I'm too competitive and it's mentally draining to get bent going 20-5 in a deathmatch.
