What is Python for?
I googled it, but it seems too complicated and for experts.
It's a (very general) programming language. You might need to install it to run a few apps even if you don't use it to actively code or develop stuff.
Don't sweat it though, if you think you don't need it just skip it.
What Animal_OG said. Unrpyc, a tool for decompiling Ren'Py games' scripts, for example, requires Python, but if you never missed it, you don't have to download it.

Calling PC programs Apps is cringe...

chrome, vlc, office, photoshop

For extensions I also add SmartHTTPS, NoScript and Stylish. Stylish I just use for some small rules I write myself though. For desktop programs I like O&O ShutUp++ for turning off Windows bloat, LibreOffice for free Microsoft Office replacement, EarTrumpet for volume mixing (although I'm a bit annoyed that it has been crashing lately), GlassWire for blocking program network connections by default, and KeePass for password management.

My basic list for setups we use on every PC and every win version:

360 Total Security
Unlocker 1.9.2
Process Hacker 2
Remove Empty Directories
Beyond Compare
VisiPics
abc Tag Editor
Rename My TV Series
K-Lite Mega Pack with Player (i register 64bit for all video and 32 bit for all audio files)
VLC (for context menu to play whole folders/series)
Winamp pro (same job as VLC, just for music + to build/edit/play mood based playlists)
Iobit Smart Defrag
Iobit Uninstaller
Daemon Tools Ultra
JDownloader
qBittorrent
Agent Ransack
7zip (faster then winrar)
Winrar (7zip dont supports adding files to archives via drag'n'drop, thats winrars only job here)
Bulk Rename Utility
Personal Backup
Phase 5 HTML Editor
Notepad++
Node.js
Python
Visual C Runtimes AIO
DXwebsetup
Open Office
Teracopy
Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier (old but still the best to copy many files drom damaged sources)
Cheat Engine
TOR Browser
Maxthon (the only browser that keeps auto login data for everything)
Cyberfox (never got the plugin breaking update)
Other browsers depending on user and usage (big sis prefers chromium based and i prefer fox based)
Minitools Parition Manager (other partition tools only when needed)
Multi Commander and Speed Commander (same job, different user, big sis prefers speed commander)
Ashampoo Photo Commander

Hmm...I'm sure i forgot a few, just like when setting up a new win, i remember them when i need them ^^

CClearner for getting rid of all those pesky temp files that build up over time. I think of it as a routine health check for your comp.

1. All my game platforms (Steam,Epic,GOG,etc) 2. Software Apps (Nvidia App/Ryzen) 3. Browsers - I like to keep it clean so that's about it.

Kinda feels like a question no one else can really answer for you, frankly. The real question is "what are you looking to do on your computer?". If you're not doing any writing or making documents you probably don't need Word. If you don't code you can probably skip Notepad++. If you don't game Steam is largely pointless. Etc. Computers are tools, you buy a hammer because you have nails to pound, not because someone else says a hammer is their favorite tool.

I usually go to "Ninite" I recommend libre office (open source office programs), Foxit reader (non-adobe pdf reader), and VLC (open source media player)

I see a lot of people talking about Photoshop. The truth is Photoshop is a really powerful image creation/modification tool, but it's too damn expensive for some people. A free alternative is a program called "gimp".

op, dont use u-torrent if u really want to then use one of the older version (cant remember the exact version number)
instead use deluge or qbittorrent

VLC Media player and Greenshot are a must for me! BeyondCompare, Visual Studio Code, and GitBash are also a must if you plan on doing any coding

...everything is free except for PC and internet ...

Man, that's a pretty long list. Hahaha
That's way more that I need, but IObit's Advanced System Care, Uninstaller and Driver Boosters is always a must, which I forgot to say in my comment.
Also, Media Player Classic with K-Lite codecs. Way better than every other program that I tried, including VLC. Never liked that one.

What are you talking about? I've been using Photoshop for years and never spent a dime on it... :ROFLMAO:

Dumbest shit I've read today... just pirate Photoshop like a normal person...

press 'e' to pick the circle/ellipsis tool and then click "stroke selection" and fiddle with any options about how you want the line it draws to be.

I've just used gimp for a long time as I've been on linux for years. there's no reason if you're already familiar with photoshop.

also, telling a game pirating previewing forum to use a free tool over an expensive one is funny

for browser I've been loving Opera GX but this thread is wonderful and now I'll be going through more of my system to clear bloat
