Most likely it was abandoned because his SS was in typical permanent review limbo. You'd think devs these days would plan on finishing an AVN whether they make money from it or not or not bother starting one in the first place. Best to just host your own page with a crypto wallet link on that and also put it on Backed.by, which afaik has 0 review process and is no one's babysitter or overlord, each account is responsible for their own uploads and whether they are legal or not (which makes sense, last I checked the law that says a website isn't legally responsible for content uploaded by it's users was still in effect). If you make a few bucks from that, great, if not oh well, that shouldn't matter anyway if you actually enjoy your hobby of making AVNs, loli animations, or whatever.
crapto exchanges are even more anal about paying out than patreon/SS are, and every government becomes very interested in what's going on if you're using them. That's if they don't just tell you to fuck off and keep your money with no recourse, or your wallet gets stolen or they get "hacked" and give your money to their friends or...
Non-kyc exchanges give about as many fucks (0) as the anonymous strangers one is buying and selling from/to, they are just middlemen. Only downside is after shipping cash in the mail a transaction can predicably take a week and not recommended for single large transactions (ie $10k+, the guy running the exchange can possibly take the money and run like you said). How do you think the Dark Web/TOR network mostly stays dark so can continue to deal in peace without the law being able to do much about it? For exchanges like Coinbase I've never had any problems (so far), unlike Paypal they don't seem to care what I use my crypto for and I've been doing so for 5 years now, but if they did I'd just put my wallet elsewhere even if a bit less convenient. If what I'm buying/selling was legally questionable I'd just go to some other nkyc exchange on the TOR network (some don't even use TOR and can be found with Google on the clearnet) where sometimes you can get a good deal quite a bit below CB's rates at that moment, sometimes -10-15% (probably from some guy that stole a CC database and needs cash to disappear asap, has a trained sex slave to sell and doesn't want to keep feeding them, etc).

if you're just shipping cash off to a guy and hoping not to get scammed then lol. in many (most?) countries the postal service is happy to confiscate any cash they discover.
There's reasons why almost every last bil in circulation (all $54B of it, including $1 bills) has traces of cocaine on it, enough to where drug dogs will find it if there's too many bills in one package. I'm no where even close to moving millions around {Pablo Escobar or some similar insanity, simply put I'm not a greedy bastard like most) and it's why I've never sent more than 10x 100's in any single ziplock/envelope. Knock on wood, none has disappeared/got lost/stolen so far. And it's cash, don't spend it all in one place in large amounts (mostly just used for food and the annual xmas shopping fund) and keep it out of banks other than those aforementioned crypto exchanges and no one will notice enough to even think to try to trace it.
