Because this is a false dichotomy, I am going with....Yes.

Each serve a purpose when employed on productive land. Perhaps part pet, part asset. You sure as shit should not be asking government for permission to have it.

Dogs smell bad. Without exception - some worse than others ofc.. but ALL. DOGS. REEK.. and no matter how FUN a dog is (they are better to play with, go on walk with, they listen better than cats etc), it will always stink; thus will never wanna have one.

Also Cats take a lot less effort.. Give them place to sleep.. feed them.. kick them outside every so often; and you get some pets and cuddles in return. Good deal.
