I end up playing mostly as myself, though if I have to pick an option that's not really me but leads to what i want from the game, I pick that instead.

I think it really depends on the game tbh. Some games are specifically designed around you self-insterting, while others are much more enjoyable if you play a role and stick to it (and sometimes don't even really have a way for you to self-insert with how the story is handled, but in cases like that the story needs to be pretty damn good to make it worth it lmfao).

i usually play as myself. the only time i use the mc's default name is when i play ntr games. those are the only times i don't play as myself, heck, i don't even see the mc as myself, just see them as some random guy that gets their love stolen. but if it's a game where the mc gets a harem, then i play as myself.

If I'm playing a game I could find on here, I play in an observer/bystander style. I'll find a walkthrough and click the "correct" path if there is one to get what I want.

In other games, I try to play the character. There's no way "I" would end up in most of those situations. I'm a hero, but not the protagonist of most of those stories.

the darker the game or story I tend to distance myself from the character and the nicer the story the closer I play myself, its a neat question I never really thought about before

I usually play as myself's version of the MC in the given universe/situation. Or at least the fantasy version of myself
I rarely play a second playthrough unless there is an alternate path that interests me as well, but I've never been able to RP as an evil character or pick an evil path.

Usually i play from the characters pov, but sometimes it's hard to make the dicisions the character would make.

Come on, you're here because you're a pervert just like all of us. Lack of sex is no excuse, I have an active sexual life and here I am, seeking to satisfy my hidden desires in a forbidden game.

In the spirit of being more involved on the social side of things, I figured I'd make my first post. So I'm curious, when you are playing a game that allows you to make choices (good/bad, dominant/submissive), do you tend to pretend that the mc character is you, and makes decisions as you would? Or do you play as a character that is different from yourself, possibly even with a different name.

Personally, I tend to play as close to myself as possible, even going as far as playing out certain scenes just to see lewd content but then rolling back if it's not a decision I would personally make in real life. What do you guys do?

I also prefer to play as myself. If the game is something prohibited I use a name X and if it is more normal I put an anagram of my steam nickname
