porn sandboxes always garbage

wow i didn't expect to be in such a minority liking sandboxes, but i suppose the only ones i can think of are the three NLT games, which i 100%ed, so maybe i just like NLT games

I love their games too, but without a Walkthrough they are impossible to figure out. No way people are stumbling upon the hidden walls and correct Chest keys and such without one. Without a walkthrough those games are unplayable, in my opinion.

I like both, really. It just depends if I'm feeling lazy or want to actually do more than just click to the next piece of dialogue.

Sandboxes. Sandboxes have one undeniable advantage - they are games, as for VN or KN, they are comics, besides the literary level for the most part does not rise above the level of mediocre fanfics.

i only play sandbox if the reward is good enough, like treasure of nadia and genesis order.

i play Visual Novels most times

As long as the Sandbox is not a grind fest I am fine with them. I just don't like it when they have no walkthrough or hint system but still require you to click on a certain place on a certain day of the week at a certain time period in order to see any new content. That's annoying as hell.
Completely agree.

Sandboxing is OK with some direction. Knowing where the goal is. Wandering around trying to make something happen is not my idea of a game.

Visual novels. Almost all sandbox games are too grindy to be fun.

Yeah there's too many hidden wall things especially in the genesis order, i ended up brute force checking every single wall tile. It's been a while since i played ToN but i don't recall it having nearly as many, hopefully they tone it down a little in the next one as well.

Of course the visual novel.
Sandbox games need the more higher user experience.

I feel like sandboxes fall into two categories, either they're super repetitive or just require constantly checking a walkthrough to know what to actually do to progress things (be it an in-game wt or a pdf) and it just... It feels pointless, I'm not here to craft a unique and personalised story I am here to Contemplate the Ultimate Meaning of life through a well-crafted titilating narrative

"sandbox" is a misnomer... "open world" is better, but still lacks.

Sandbox *should* refer to games where you can build your own content, like Minecraft.

Anyway, if I am being told a story, then just tell me the fucking story!

(there are a few great "sandbox" games in the genre... I wont talk shit about Treasure of Nadia, for example.)
