I don't hate them, but defiantly not my preferred platform

I don't mind RPGM games if they are done correctly. I find pixel art kind of nice and it wouldn't work anywhere outside of RPGM so no I don't hate it but I also don't love it since there are way to many games that haven't used it to it's potential

These games tend to be uber grindy imo but there are def some really good ones out there

Don't hate them, most devs just don't realize their game would be better in a different engine

rpgmaker games can be a great medium to tell a story or to have branching plot since you are given the illusion of choice and it's more interactive... however, it's also one of the most popular engine and it's harder for non dev, making shovelware pretty common

cant hate em when one of my favourite games in an rpgm (black souls)

Don't write off all RPGM games, some of them are fantastic.

I don't hate RPGM games, I hate the fact that the dev choose that engine over Ren'Py while not doing anything that would justify its use.

I like RPG if they have more content and are not excessively grindy

I think the issue is because, from my experience:
0. No actual route progress, directions or aim in most of the games like Do something - but what, where, who? is not well defined.
1. RPG games are too grindy.
2. The content to action ratio is low, many games show one image after doing an excessive task
3. Compared to other engines, RPGs engines are too slow and doesnt have flexibility
4. Not user friendly - cause there is no skip like renpy holding ctrl button

5. Worse than sandbox having to try to navigate your way around, and map graphics are terrible - like it was invented in 1985 and the graphics were never updated.

RPGM can work very well for the right type of game. Most of them are not.

Not all of them are annoying, one of my favorite games (a struggle with sin) is also rpgm and it is simply fantastic and has a playtime of at least 60 hours. Others have also sunk well over 100 hours.
But yes, there are definitely really annoying and very confusing games with terrible controls and no helpful quest logs where you wander aimlessly around the world hoping to see something new....

I don’t really keen about them honestly, but it deepens about the game also.

I enjoyed a few games so not really.

Depends, if they are actually rpgs and not just long ass fetch quests i like em.

i dont hate them, but its too hard to play with one hand

hate is a strong word. They are sometimes bad, but there are a few good ones out there.

i prefer not play games that use RPGM, although i did enjoy peasants quest
