The story is more important than whether it has animation or not. does it improve the game, most of the time no because most of them are simple 2-3 second loops.

animations always will be good, and shows that the developer likes what he does

Animations make a game better if the models don't look weird, has clipping issues. Also needs good story to go alongside it.

I like how animations a used to emphasise sex scenes. I don’t feel that they are really needed elsewhere in the storyline.

Honestly yeah, its lame to just see 2 picture moving back and forward. Sometimes it just funny looking

Yeah good animations improve things a lot. If its a really simple animation though, it can detract sometimes.

It has to have some animation to feel more immersive for me. Going through a whole game without animation kinda feels like a very old game now.

thread is more than 2 years old, have you gotten a solid answer yet ?

I know this sounds glib, and others have said it, but it really depends on the animations. For me, animation in a game is only noticeable if it is bad. Otherwise, they barely register.

There are some non animated games that are good too, but I agree, the game feels more worked on and more alive with animations, and also, a lot of players are there only for the goon, so it atracts more people. And even better if they're sounded, with music, but I prefer moans or something like that, I'm tired of the usual nsfw scene incoming music.

I love animations if they're done right. It can take way from the experience it is sloppily done
