Yea i guess you're right with saying that it's easier to start from scratch than try to figure out the assets used in a good game that got abandoned and i know it would also mean the characters couldnt be made the same as in the original (without having many or all of the original files) but i wouldnt mind if there would be remakes of games like this even if the characters would look a bit different from the original since the story would still be the same so IMO it would still be worth a try.Sadly as nice as that sounds that hardly ever happens. Even for those that know what they are doing it's usually easier to start from scratch than try to figure out the assets used (which are sometimes custom made by the former devs themselves, you can't just go to the Daz store and buy those) and pick up the story where it left off. Getting the duf files would be great but when devs just ghost everyone that's unlikely.
Well i meant that mainly ppl who liked the games that became abandoned very much and/or even became fans of them (and of course also know how to properly make games like this with being good in coding and 3D rendering and making animations etc.) could make remakes of them and it could also inspire them for making their own games. And beyond this, there's the creative aspect. A lot of people who have the skill and resources to do something like that would generally rather tell their own stories than remake or continue someone else's story, since it would make it harder for the new dev/artist to ever think of the remake/continuation as "theirs".
I get why players/consumers want someone else to finish/continue abandoned games, but the incentive for the new creator is almost nonexistent, so it's very rare for it to happen.
Sadly probably so, it's another dev that tucked tail and ghosted everyone. Which is a shame, especially after ending on a cliffhanger (so best not to even download it for those that hate getting invested into a story and knowing it will never be finished, that's the single main reason I usually ignore abandoned AVNs I find that I previously never heard of).Oh theres an update... but at the same time... 0.3.2 (Abandoned... hope thats actually not the case this was one of the better ones
Yeah usually the same for me problem is, this little gem is missing the official abandoned prefix, it is needed to act as a warning flag for those like usSadly probably so, it's another dev that tucked tail and ghosted everyone. Yeah I know but the prefix is still needed I didn't notice the abandoned mark next to the version until recently its hard to see and small unlike the prefixIt wasn't really missing and was more that the prefixes got removed during the one site problem as abandoned was still there behind the version number in the OP.
That almost never happens when the devs don't know each other in real life. Most people starting an AVN would rather just make their own from scratch rather than try to gather the same assets the original dev used (and in absence of .duf files try to figure out his cutomization settings for things like the model morphs if those were done among other things) and then guess where he wanted to take the story and write that as well along with the coding (which is usually more time efficient to just pay someone else to do, particularly if they have superior knowledge of Python and Renpy). To all but the most hardcore fans it's just not worth the effort vs simply making your own from scratch. And, well, sadly I doubt this had any fans hardcore enough to even attempt it when usually all they do is maybe make their own Daz renders/fan art for the more popular AVNs.Please some óne make a UPDATE !!!
Sad but true, like Seath Black and Westy, those 2 have worked together often on projects for years and he has promised to finish Westy's work, but it won't be anytime soon he's got his own to finish tooThat almost never happens when the devs don't know each other in real life. Proud father was one of my favorites and pretty much what i had been comparing everything else I played to. I'll miss Ashley (she is my favorite from PF) and her mischievious self.I'm also sad that DHT has been abandoned. I would have put this one up there with Proud Father (which is having issues in of itself). I hope one day the dev will pop back up and continue this great AVN, but from the sounds of it, not likely. I just hope one day we can get more AVNs like this one.
