Corruption or Romance?

I play romance route first then I play any corruption route second.

I am unlikely to try a game that does not have the romance tag.

I want emotional story telling. Make me feel something.

It does not have to be a happy thing .. one of my all time favorite emotional scenes is a quiet moment combining gratitude and loss, at the end of a kinda unhappy route in Summer Scent.

Depending on the quality of the game I might try alternate routes that go corruption or other "dark" directions. But I find myself usually skipping or dropping those routes because of not wanting to do those things to the characters I have invested in on the romance routes.

I enjoy corruption.

Romance is definitely important. But something about giving discipline just gets me going.

But happy times and cuddles are nice too.

Romance almost exclusively.

Maybe I've had back luck but a game with only corruption tends to add more extreme tags as the game goes on.
I mean, Blackheart Games, Ethan Krautz, etc... good luck to you guys... really. No sarcasm. I tried them. Not for me.
You see, my fragile little broken heart can't handle anything more than light consensual corruption... if that's even a thing.

Romance tag doesn't NEED to be there.
But the others need to be absent or locked into a path that I can avoid or something while I play the "neutral" path at worst and romance at best.

I feel you man, I dropped The Guardian halfway through because MC legit becomin a real asshole 💀

romance but i'm not for a little corruption if the game only has 2 paths i always do the romance first

It highly depends on the theme of the game as a whole and personality of characters. Some characters deserve more love and some need more discipline. However it all comes to how well the pacing of the selected path is done. If it feels weird or it is simply too quick and easy to corrupt someone I usually switch to love path.

Usually romance because, if I'm gonna be honest, most corruption games just read like badly written abuse.

Corruption almost inevitably seems to veer into degradation and abuse. No thanks.

A mix of both, usually I play through the romance side of things and if I enjoy the game enough I will go back through to do corruption. Sometimes its the opposite, but usually its romance first.

both are good for me. it probably depends on the character

How about something in the middle, I like to be nice but a little manipulative.

Corruption that leads into romance.

If we're talking about mechanic in games, I rather see corruption. This is mainly because for me to make romance work well, it hinges on if I even like the character, also how well the writing is.
For the most part, corruption in games doesn't require as tight of a writing as romance. And for characters who I wouldn't care for a romance route, I still find the corruption route enjoyable/interesting.

It's nice having the choice, as sometimes i want more loving progress but then there are times i want to see how far they could be corrupted

A little bit of both. Depends on the MC and the scenario.

Depends on the personality of the target.

Almost always romance for me. Very occasionally do I like corruption
