The only thing that they messed up with is getting rid of the micro bikini. That was the shit

Putting that aside, I finally managed to run Fallen: Brand New World in GameHub, and I'm glad to say that it runs, since I had to drop it before because of the hideous lag (can you imagine touching tits at 3 FPS?)

@Don Tebjos if you enjoy headpats, you would surely like this game

Who do you think you are talking to >:, . lol

Yeah it's a great game, but..

_ after you've seen all the scenes repeating them feels more like grind than true gameplay

_the side activities (cooking, fishing, etc) are fun but not really challenging in the end, and a lot of side effects are not that useful or clear

_I don't like the face proportions of most girls xD main heroine is ultra cute in her chibbi version, would have preffered her face rounder in her "normal state". Anyway Sharon = best girl imho but has not a lot of scenes as she is a side character

_WHAT IS THE USE OF PRAYING AT CHURCH!?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAA I WANT TO KNOW BUT NOBODY KNOWS!! AAAAAAAAA

That apart, it has good scenes, the story is OK+ tier, and the art in general is beautiful.

Also it's a good thing you waited to play it in good conditions as the max thrust speed has something enticing, would be a shame to have it run at 3 FPS indeed lol

Anybody Knows whats the state of development of this game?

Its here on the thread and looks very good, i like the art style and looks promising:
It has been 3 years and they haven't really shown much on the game-side, it's still the same CGs reworked over and over again, I basically just forget this guy even makes this game and let him be enjoying making those artworks while reviewing other games monthly.

Did you ever find this in english? I can deal with censored.
+ @sincityvibe

Edit: it has been restored on LC - enjoy

Saw it was mentioned a few times already but "Stranded With You" would really add to this list here. Too bad the kagura translation's kind of dumb at times. But hey, it's Kagura.
Saikey*
Not every Western company is Kagura Games, you know...

The translation was of the top quality work I've come to expect by Kagura so I subconsciously associated it with them XD. You are right though, It's Saikey.

Maybe they use the same translator or something?

Fair, fair. I edit my save so I can't relate to this, but you gotta admit, full voiced on EVERYTHING is pretty cool

It surely is but for me it's the kind of feature that are not mandatory. Often I feel ressources in development could have been spent elsewhere to make a better game

I have to disagree with you here bro. Most of the time, voice acting is what distinguishes a good game from a bad one because it affects immersion. It's much more immersive when the character is speaking to me than when I'm reading cold, impersonal text. I'm not saying that kinetic visual novels are boring, but voice acting definitely adds a huge dimension of life and personality to the characters.

For me, sometimes bad games are saved by the fact that it's voiced. I don't wanna admit it but Futarigurashi is one of the examples. If you played from v1.2, you'll get what I mean

But since v1.6, the game starts to shape up well

I half agree about the voice acting? It's definitely charming, but also I dunno if I'd say that they're enough to save bad games. If a game is good I'd probably give credit to other aspects of the game first before thinking about the voice acting. To me it's like needing a good foundation to build a house on. Not discrediting you guys though.

I really love this topic of discussion so I can't help but to butt in as well.

Let's assume the game itself already works well without voice acting, now if we add one, how impactful the voice acting be in the game is, objectively, not only on how frequent the voices appear in-game, but also dependant on the source of the voice acting asset itself.
Voice acting can be either self-made / bespoke for the game itself by a commisioned / hired voice actor, or voice packs like the ones PINCREE provide.

Hired voice actors are a definite way to be sure that voice acting in the game can be good of its quality. That's also why a lot of voiced visual novels are the most memorable of their kind.

However, some games can actually get away with using voice packs on certain scenes, most notably games with cutscenes and interactive sex scenes that only have voices in scenes where the girl responds to touches, etc etc, like most of the games in this thread as well. It most often leads to "good enough" but depending on how the voices are used it can add enough to its immersion. It almost never leads to a "perfect" quality because voice assets are made to be used on anywhere appropriate and is a bandaid cheaper solution in development compared to hiring voice actors.

The quality of voice packs in a game are also relative to how much the player has already listened to the same voice assets over and over.... some games usually just pick the most popular voice packs and players who have delved into more games than one will recognise the samples right away and will have different opinions. Some ascend to heaven towards the same beloved sounds they like, some gets instantly turned off because they're tired of hearing the same thing again, that's why there are mixed opinions on these.

I agree with you, bro; the developer did a really good job with the voice acting in Snow Daze. By the way, what do you guys think, is Snow Daze a cohabitation game or not?

No.

Literally breaking every rules set in this thread except they're living together.

  1. Interactive sex
  2. The gameplay should include nonsexual interactions
  3. The mc and partner(s) are living in the same space/area/room
  4. The scenes should be repeatable.

I'm not saying voice acting is totally useless ofc, it's more like it's a nice bonus for me, nothing more

Now don't get me wrong, sfx and short lines/ moans/ breathing are a much appreciated feature on my end, and can upgrade a game's ambiance pretty quickly and nicely

But as I tend to read fast and skip to the next line, i know that litteral voice acting usually doesn't match the rythm i'm used to play

Imouto fantasy's high toned bleeps for the sister are much enough imho and oddly give a lot of charm and personnality to the character, so I would have a tendancy to say not that much more is needed

For me, it depends on the game, in some games, I think voice acting is really cool, while in others, I turn the sound off completely because it bothers me.

True. For example, Idol Hands voice acting is kinda annoying to listen to
