discussion Cats or dogs? And Why?

All depends on what are your possibilities and needs.
Cats are great because of their low maintenance, just clean the litterbox, brush them sometimes and play and that's it. You can even leave them for the entire day with enough food and they are nice for cuddling.
Dogs needs walking out and attention, so you need to have your schedule centered around them.
But dogs are pure love and loyalty, cats often don't want to be bothered, and they only come to you on their own terms. My cat only comes to me and likes me when its feeding time and that's kinda sad. I wish i would have a house with a garden, not living in a small tenement flat, so that i could have a dog and it wouldn't be so problematic.
I love both, but i would prefer to have a dog.

I get why people like dogs but for me it’s just too much work and really restricts your schedule. You can’t go away for a weekend if you have a dog let alone even be gone from the house for 12 hours without having to take the dog outside to go to the bathroom.

Used to always prefer cats, but my new dog has won me over. Little guy has such a huge personality.

I love cats, I just find dogs kinda annoying. They are always like on coke and don't stay still one second, they need to be bathed constantly or else they smell bad, they are loud and a little obnoxious and they won't even eat my corpse after I die!

Depends on the dog. Some a great. some are evil (chihuahua's really don't like me, like more-so than for most people) and some are just the best. The right breed with the right teaching and the right temperament can get you just the most chill, quiet, cuddly little buddy. Current pet is a dog like that, and is the most food-disciplined pet I've ever known. I have literally never seen an animal just leave food in the bowl because they were full before. Wet food, given as a treat, even!

Cats are generally lower maintenance, but even that can vary quite a bit in my experience. Being more independent means they don't always need to be in proximity to you, but they also don't always take to teaching in any way shape or form. Add to that a penchant for destruction, and your mileage may vary. Had a cat that destroyed a laptop when it decided that the ceramic rooster on top of a kitchen cabinet just had to die, and the laptop had been brought out to display a dinner recipe.

Personally I lean more towards being a cat-guy, but dogs are great too.
