The game is officially banned from Steam.
I don't understand - why, what sins? There's no incest, no characters of questionable age, it's a pretty vanilla game. I don't know, is using a real map of Moscow a copyright violation? :) But most importantly, I can only imagine what a blow this was for the developer, who was really looking forward to the release on Steam. Especially since it's the work of many years, few projects are completed after 7 years of development. How's Summertime Saga doing, by the way?
But in any case, since this project is practically complete (there will still be bug fixes), I hope that this incident with Steam will not cause the developer to give up, but will make her redouble her efforts to continue working on her new project. In the last days of September she wrote:
I’ll keep supporting Bright Past with small, self‑contained updates. That includes not only new bits, but also fixes, polish, and finishing work on existing content.
In parallel, I’m moving forward with a new project — Esterium Project. It gives me energy and a sense of forward motion.
