Use URM, Universal RenPy Mod. I recommend using it to peer at choice code to see which gives you the stats you want (or doesn't subtract them) instead of outright modifying your stats. If you do that you could put the game in a state that breaks the logic flow the dev is working within and could cause it to fail for mysterious reasons.

He's referring to another website that hosts games. I'm assuming we aren't allowed to post links to other websites, but if you search on the first three letters of the last three nouns in his sentence - and - add the additional words "game" and "website" it should come up.
